Former talk-show host Phil Donahue on Saturday reflected on President Trump's administration, calling it "the darkest political moment in American history."
This is the darkest political moment in American history, Donahue said on MSNBC Saturday. Whos going to argue that?

I thought Phil Donahue was dead. Turns out he is only brain dead.
This is a good statement and very true. Philly is a stupid fool and most everyone knows it...where were this dumb asses when Barry was killing the USA....Damn sad that these old fools live this long and spout their ideas and random thoughts......is there anyone in Hollywood with 1/2 a f-ing brain......answer NO.
phil donahue proves once again that LIBs are chronic malignancies inflicted on civil society. This has-been is old so he will leave earth soon.
Proof.

Darkest political moment in history? Not even close.
The era of the Volstead Act, the Prohibition amendment, probably was a much darker moment. Not immediately, but for what it presaged later. Widespread resistance to law, with the growth and vastly increased influence of all other kinds of illegal transactions, and a completely unenforceable part of the legal code, ending only with complete repeal of the 18th Amendment. Follow that with the Great Depression, which in the normal course of things, would have largely been a very transient phenomenon, if the “smart people” had not been trying to “fix” it, instituting programs and drastic measures that ended up vastly exacerbating the problem, and leaving the US once again woefully unprepared for the next great “dark moment” of our history, one of the bloodiest and most destructive wars the world had seen up to that time, that by any objective measure, we damned near lost, right at the onset. Perhaps in retrospect, we DID lose, because the peace supposedly won in 1945, only resulted in a further erosion of what it once meant to be an American, apparently forgotten as the Dawn of the Age of Aquarius was supposed to be the beginnings of a “new freedom”, which ended up suspiciously like the kind of ennui and despair that resembled the years of Prohibition, hedonism and a wide disrespect of hard-won lessons of honesty, thrift, and self-sacrifice for one’s brighter future.
We try to give some people the truth and they think it is Hell.
No, that ended earlier this year, but that's not the way the MSM wants the public to see it. You probably have already heard this, but it reflects how the MSM behave.
Trump was having lunch on a yacht with the Pope. A gust of wind came up and blew the Pope's mitre off his head an into the water. Trump immediately said: "Let me get that for you!" and vaulted over the railing. He proceeded to walk over to the hat, pick it up and walk back to the yacht, jump over the railing and hand the mitre back to the Pope. The headlines the next day:
Trump Can't Swim
Did he tap his head with the Microphone when he said it?
Good point. I haven't seen Democrats this angry since Lincoln abolished slavery.
It is a dark day indeed when the American people start to rebel against the yoke of tyranny that the left has been trying to oh-so-gently place around our necks.
A frog in a slowly heated pot of water *will* notice that it is becoming quite warm at some point.
Phil is quite a bit older than me and this is his idea of the worst point in American history. You would think his view of history would be more comprehensive.
600,000 plus dead in the War of Northern Aggression.
FDRs War to enslave the Free People of the United States.
LBJs War to enslave the Free People of the United States.
Obamas War to enslave the Free People of the United States.
All of these in my view of history are worse.
I remember Phil Donahue.
Comcast did not ask my opinion before buying NBC, nor did they provide any alternative broadband access where I live. Were you equally engaged in telling people how to spend their own money when NBC was owned by GE? Or RCA?
Funny!! True!!
This makes me sad to read his comment. I grew up watching Phil Donahue. My mom had him on the TV every weekday. I don’t remember his show being political at all, just things like Men are wearing kilts instead of business suits, fluff stuff. So what gives him the right to get political now?
As you said ... I thought this guy had died years ago. LOL.
Interesting clip there, Donahue interviewing Milton Friedman.
And I will give Donahue credit - lots of credit - for one thing. After Donahue asked his question, he let Friedman give a full and complete answer. Donahue did not interrupt Friedman, or try to talk over him.
That was refreshing. It’s something we rarely see in interviews these days.
The overwhelming of the folks goes on through the ages as best”they” can...wha’ hoppens when they are 100% successful?
Same thing that happens as when “they” run outta other folks money...???....nobody knows..... hasn’t really ever happened!

Phil said this to a black woman no less. But because shes a crackpot lib, she nodded right along.
From Phil Donahue, the guy who believed and promoted the self-confessed Soviet lying propagandist, Vladimir Posner. Soviet propaganda influence: good. any hint of anti-communist Russian influence: bad.
The 1970s is calling. They want their Leftist Hero back.
