Houston man must pay child support for kid that's not his
Houston Chronical ^ | 7/21/2017 | Fernando Alfonso III

A Houston man is on the hook for $65,000 in child support for a child that's not his.

Gabriel Cornejo, 45, took a DNA test proving a child his ex-girlfriend had 16 years ago was not his.

The test was too late. In 2003, a child support court in Houston ruled that Cornejo owed his ex-girlfriend child support because, she claims, there was no way he wasn't the father.

You are claiming to be pro-life but advocating for fathers to be able to “request an abortion.”

And by your logic babies would not be harmed or at risk due to this?

I think the injustice addressed by this article is that a man could be duped into providing financial support for someone else’s child.

Men should be financially responsible for their biological children unless it can be demonstrated that they did not consent to sex, or the child has been adopted and that financial responsibility has been assumed by another party.

Pro-life people do not support abortion due to the mother or father not wanting their child.

I can’t think of any legitimate reason for someone to not support their own biological child. But even if there is such a case, there is no reason whatsoever that someone needs to “request an abortion.”

That’s not pro-life. You’re not pro-life. Again, you need to rethink your position.

“Twist this into being something else if you wish”

I’m not twisting anything. I’ve simply restated your own words. I had hoped I misunderstood your view, but it is obvious that you are not pro-life.

Many times men contribute to women aborting their babies because men do not want to take responsibility for their children.

Why should men get out of supporting their own biological children? How is this fair? And how is it pro-life?

It isn’t.

Yes. They are [forcing unequal child support laws on men], with the help of quisling men in positions of power.

First, I would argue that it isn't the laws that are unjust, but the way they are applied. Who is doing most of that applying? I know, some men.

So what are rest doing about it? What are men doing to ensure their sons don't face these injustices they complain about? If men thought their sons are being treated so unfairly, wouldn't they defend them?

I didn't answer your question because it's irrelevant to the subject of unfair child support laws.

It's entirely relevant. The billions of dollars a year that is going to prostitutes, abusive pimps, and human traffickers, is money that could be supporting the MRAs that are fighting the unfair treatment men complain about. Even a fraction of it would help. That abusive pimps and human traffickers are are getting rich while the MRAs who are fighting this are starved for cash is the choice of men. If men are the victims of anything, it's their own short sighted lust.

Good for you.

They (the crazy ones) were not the majority. I was attracted to them and then began to learn about their personality afterwards. The 3 most significant ones would have all ended in disaster. I actually saw part of the disaster of the first one (we wound up working together, later, for the US military - I passed her as I was going in - I thought, that can NOT be her. It was - yikes).

The 2nd one I could NOT get away from. Today I would file a restraining order (though I don’t have the money). She was absolutely dedicated to use me as I was somewhat friends with her ex-boyfriend whom she was kooky about. Most bizarre situation you ever saw. She married another guy who I believe had no idea of this side of her. One of her ex-boyfriends did - I ran into him while the (one) guy who she was crazy about told him, laughingly, that we had gone out. The guy immediately launched into sympathy for what he knew I had been through. Yah, that guy GOT it.

The 3rd one, I made sure to distance myself from as much as possible. She wanted to come back - I ignored it. It would have been disaster. I know how it would have gone.

Like I say, those were not the majority; just the worst. The last two I at first thought I wanted to marry and have kids and a family with. Boy was I the idiot on those two. I figured it out rather quickly but still, that 2nd one.....

Glad you were able to resolve that amicably.

Both of our genders can really get into trouble with “crazy” or selfish members of the opposite sex. I feel for men who get into it with crazy women. But women trying to be good wives, partners, get stepped on by men who only care for themselves and get so abusively dominant too.

I don’t want to stay single forever but part of me is super happy not having someone bossing me around right now. I hope you’re in a good relationship now or happy alone!

“i would love to have a battle of wits with you, but i will not fight an unarmed man”

Quite the humorist.

Is that original with you?

My point.

If one lives a biblically based life and only has sex with his wife, such problems won’t arise in one’s life.

I guess only idiots do that.

Ok... you are being civil... so will i... i have a friend who is a pastor... one day he came home, his wife had taken his 3 children and left the state with another man.... she filed for divorce... since he was getting divorced he was removed from his pastorship.... he did not file, she did ( she ran away with a muslim ).... he did not see his children for years, paid court ordered child support, and it took him almost 5 years to get his pastorship back..... biblically, what is the story on this one (and i will not even get into my brothers 17 years divorce from his mentally challenged ex wife)...

I have no idea the intimate details of their lives and situation.

Do you?

Also, it is not analogous to the case in this thread. He is not being accused of fathering a child with another woman.

actually... yes, i do have intimate details of BOTH their lives.... this story is not about “keeping it in your pants”... it is about the way men get hammered by the “Family Courts”... you see the “family” court is not about the children at all... it is about the female in the situation... the United States is the only country in the world that has women that think about the ways to get cash from a man, and they have the courts to help them.... if a pastor in a church can get nailed this way, then ANYBODY can get nailed this way... and you talk about keeping it in your pants... they were living together and she had a child from another man and HE has to pay for it.... only in this country does this happen... ( my brothers ex was certified mentally deficient.. at year 15, my brother asked the court why she can continue to defy court orders and not be thrown in jail.. the judge said “ I will not throw the mother of 3 children in jail”)..... that pretty much sums it up... on a side note, i do hope and pray that you and your spouse live and have a long and fruitful marriage.....

I was addressing the specific case.

I feel other comments are conflating issues.
