For First Time in Millennia, Jewish Priests Will Undergo Training to Enter Temple's Holy of Holies
Breaking Israel News ^ | 7/31/17 | Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz

“Moshe called Mishael and Elzaphan, sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aharon, and said to them, “Come forward and carry your kinsmen away from the front of the sanctuary to a place outside the camp.” Leviticus 10:4 (The Israel Bible™)

For the first time in 2,000 years, a group of Kohanim (men of the Jewish priestly caste) living close to Jerusalem’s Old City are studying the relevant Jewish laws to be able to ascend the Temple Mount and enter the Holy of Holies, where God’s presence is said to dwell.

Fifty days left to go, folks. It is going to get really clear to those who have been paying attention that it is going down as written.

That’s a darned good question. I *think* it might be direct line through the male side. A straight lineage back to Aaron. Which would potentially have several thousand potential priests in waiting.

Having the surname Cohen does not absolutely guarantee that the man is of the priestly class of Kohanim. And, there are other surnames associated with being a descendent of the Kohanim, such as Kagen, Kaplan, Kogen, Katz, Cohn, Kohn, Cowan, Kahane, etc. Lineage is passed down through the father. Interestingly, in recent years, a genetic marker was found for men who are of the Kohane class (descendants of Aaron). Over 90% of men identifying as kohanim carry certain genetic markers found in vastly smaller numbers of men not identifying as kohanim.

Fifty days?

How was that determined?

That’s easy to say, hard to do. The Dome of the Rock is there. And judging by the state of Israel’s actions in the past, the Israeli gov values the existence of their country more than they value appeasing a comparatively small number of people who hope to recreate something that will be difficult, if not impossible to recreate.

“An excellent way to get struck dead, especially after the Crucifixion, rending of the temple veil, etc.”

Agree. Does the Ark of the Covenant also need to be present in the Temple? If so have they located it.
It is not going to happen the way they think. The Messiah has fulfilled the prophecy.

The Jewish people do not recognize Jesus as the fulfillment of their
prophecy which for practical purposes Jesus only represents an attempt by Gentiles to rebrand God in their own image of the Preacher. It would be interesting if the Keepers of the Temple had records, as are contained in the Holy of Holy’s in the Vatican, to fill in the holes on what they thought about Jesus at the time. Since the Priests had Jesus executed, might there be more in the records from Jerusalem if saved than the Gentile/Roman-tic version?

I often wondered if the anti-Christ (anti-Messhiah) would be able to make a deal with the Muslims to give up the dome for a Palestinian homeland.

Also, aren’t there a lot of archeological sites UNDER the dome?

Old Covenant non-sense.

17:24  God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

Act 17:25  Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

Act 17:26  And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

Act 17:27  That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

Old Covenant, yes, but NOT nonsense. Prophesy.

Surely you know, that since the Jews don’t accept Jesus as Messiah, they still believe in all the Old Testament, the Temple, and all the rituals accompanying that, right?

Revelation tells us that the Jews will try and re-establish everything as it was. And when they get close, their Messiah (JESUS CHRIST - Surprise!) WILL come - as a conqueror, just as they expected Him to come the first time.

By the way, everyone should be very careful about poking fun at the Old Testament, or the Jews who observe it. Yes, we do not observe sacrifices anymore, because Jesus was our sacrifice, once for all.

BUT - Those rituals, those laws, those instructions were all commandments of God Himself. They are rich in symbolism and prophesy - and they all point in some way to Jesus Christ.

What God has established, whether He has made it obsolete or not, should never be the object of derision.

I’m not so sure the Dome of the Rock is the site of the 2nd Temple. Just a bit below there probably was where it was.

“The dome of the rock might be another speed bump in the way.”

I’m not so sure that’s where the Temple was located.

Plus there was recent problems on the Temple Mount a weeks ago with even the President of Turkey calling for Muslims to go and defend that area to really take a chance.
