Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids, implemented under U.S. President Donald Trump's administration, threaten the number of undocumented immigrants who are willing to take advantage of government benefits.
Fewer undocumented families have come forward to claim Los Angeles County-funded welfare, which is expected to result in a projected decrease of $200 million over 2016.
Trump immigration policies have contributed to a reduction in the number of undocumented people claiming welfare payments, since more people are being napped by ICE.
In late April the nationwide figure indicated a hike of 35 percent, before over 200 people being arrested – over a five-day period – in May in Los Angeles.
Information from the county's department of public services disclosed that more than 58,000 families collected $602 million in 2015, while 64,000 families received a total of about $675 million in 2016.
Undocumented individuals with American-born children receive full welfare and food stamp benefits.
Mayor Eric Garcetti, who supports the initiative, said: “Immigration is at the heart of LA’s (Los Angeles') story.”
He founded the Office of Immigrant Affairs in 2013 to uncomplicate the bureaucracy attached to the benefits that are available to undocumented immigrants.

Trump should move federal offices outside of sanctuary cities. In chicago courts can move to the suburbs or to Milwaukee. You can move the post office too. If ICE is not welcome, then just move out the federal government in total.
Yep...that's why the Mexican whores spread their legs the moment they get here, and it is not uncommon to see twenty-something Mexican girls dragging around 4-5 kids (and pregnant with another) in most major cities. And the media LOVES this...because once the anchor baby pops out the criminal trespasser and identity thief becomes a "mother" with "U.S. citizen children" and denounces the heartless Trump for "separating families." California should be thanking the Trump administration for saving them money.

The anchor baby loophole must be closed. It is at the heart of this problem and is the magnet that attracts these deadbeat Hispanics to America, California in particular with its sanctuary policies, to get free money and food.
I’m so disgusted at our government for not only allowing this but also encouraging it. Why in the world would they do that? It’s not like America needed the dead weight and we could always allow more immigration from all countries; not just Mexico and other Hispanic countries. This really bothers me and there’s no way to undo it short of a war that ended up killing them all or forced them to go home.

WTH is this crap of undocumented? They have no documents , because they are ILLEGAL . Call them what they are media who are breaking the law, or does the law only apply to conservatives in their mind?

I suppose the aid, benefits, and welfare is given to the CHILDREN, who are technically and legally "citizens". If the illegal parents "happen" to ingest or consume some of the food or aid or services meant for the "citizens", I suppose they are then technically "receiving aid illegally".
How do you police THIS?
