Sorry but I don't see where you get to be a Nazi and also a patriotic American. I mean we literally fought a war to decide that. By the same token I don't see where you get to be a racial supremacist and be a patriotic American. That goes against everything I believe is right. Likewise I don't see where you get to be a left wing fascist and be a patriotic America. That flies in the face of everything the Constitution stands for. You can choose to be on one side or the other. I can't stomach either one.
So you quit the battle because the enemy called you a name? Thanks for your support.
A "patriotic American" would say that even a Nazi has the right to free speech and assembly in the USA, and the right to protection if other forces try to stop them. Just because their speech happens to be unpalatable doesn't mean they lose their rights.
I’ve yet to see much evidence that the ‘far right’ crowd was anything off the sort. Surely there’s video of lots of Nazi and KKK flags everywhere, yet where is it?
This is a setup. All done so the media can say ‘violent right wing terrorists’ that are ‘Trump’s base’, to reinforce that the GOP and Trump are racists because they’re probably seeing cracks in the black vote for DNC.
This was a recipe, pick a famous Confederate monument to take down, get all the pieces in place and have the cops leave.
Whatever happened to “I disagree with what you say, but I will fight to the death to protect your right to say it.”?
You are all for dismantling the souths heritage....you and about 50 others here
You’ve been south bashing here for your whole stint
No wonder you equate us with Nazis
How about just being an American with all God-given rights that the U.S. Constitution guarantees are upheld and defended by those who swore an oath to do so?
In my opinion, it is the big picture and it is principle that matters. At the end of the day Americans can think or say just about anything they want to. It is when actions violate the law that government law enforcement steps in. There is no law against hateful thoughts or speech because of our individuals' right of free speech. As such, Trump was correct not to choose one violent group over the other AND to point out and condemn violent acts from all sides.
Contrary to the 'Good Ends Justify Bad Means' mantra that the Leftists and Fake News Media promote: There is no 'good' reason to be a violent thug. Individuals on both sides crossed the line when and if they became violent because they violated another individuals Constitutional rights; NOT because they violated some thought police state definition of 'hate'.
What should be self-evident, big picture, is that there are two diametrically opposed sides in this 'debate': The Leftist side: those that believe some speech can be prohibited and that some violence is justified VERSUS The American side: those that feel ALL speech should be allowed and violence is NEVER justified.
