Allison was a minor tropical storm that stalled inland. Caused massive flooding and billions in damage.

This is forecast to be a major hurricane that stalls inland for days. Do the math.

You condescend very well.

You also seem to have no issue with the tendency for weather forecasters, writers, etc. to overuse superlatives on mid-scale (or lower) storms, so that when the superlatives are actually warranted they do not have the appropriate effect.

The information presented in the maps is very useful. The headline, because it looks so much like many false past headlines, may actually cause people to miss valuable information.

Yes...Allision was small but the ceneter just happened to stall right over the east side of HOU..rainfall rates 4-5 inches per hour for several hours..totals up to 35 inches over a very small area

I don’t think houston will get those rates ..those rates will be in the stalled eyewall more south...but constant heavy rain for days will cause major river and creek flooding
