Update on the California High Speed Rail Project

Thursday, September 28, 2017, 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM University of California Center - 550 East Shaw Avenue, Fresno (Stanislaus/Tuolumne Room)

Join us for lunch and an update on the High Speed Rail Project presented by California High Speed Rail Authority Environmental Staff. After lunch attendees will be taken on a tour of construction sites in the Fresno/Madera County area.

Since adoption of the Final EIR/EIS, the project has progressed into the design/build phase with four active construction packages. This presentation will update us on the current High Speed Rail work happening in Fresno/Madera County and how the environmental compliance process continues from the planning to the building stage.

Please note that transportation to the construction site(s) will be coordinated by the California High Speed Rail Authority as a group.

I understand the first leg of the high speed rail is going between Fresno and Bakersfield, 110 miles. Not a lot of commuters between those two cities. But that’s the only section that could be started, considering right-of-way acquisition and environmental issues. It will be a decade or more before this will have any value for California. Big loser, and we’re paying for it.

After the BIG ONE, Madera will be renamed as Madera Beach.

When it’s finally done it will be 1) 30 percent slower than advertised; 2) fifty percent more expensive than advertised; and 3) with ridership of only 35% of advertised.

The good news is the babies being born now will be eligible for senior citizen discounts on the inauguaral run.

And they’re putting in a high speed ferry in Death Valley.

Nancy Pelosi’s husband got the bid to build the boat.

I was just thinking,
You wanna be on one of these bullet trains when the big one hits.
Great way to have a special experience with a thousand or so folks you don’t know.

In honor of the patron of CA high-speed rail, Governor Jerry Brown, the project should be known as the ‘Brown Streak’.

The ironic thing is that all they need to do is add a lane to I-5 for buses and they’ll get all the benefits of the train, but at 1% of the cost...and the same for passengers, the bus will be much, much, cheaper than the train will ever be.

“It will be a decade or more before this will have any value for California. “

It takes time for DiFi’s hubby to buy all the appropriate properties to sell to the government.

I think this is great, I am already planning a Ballot Measure to move ALL State Offices to Fresno and require ALL Public Servants and Court Officers to exclusively use Public Transportation to and From their respective work place or Government Office.

The Madeira wine was drunk by many of our founding fathers. Thomas Jefferson and George Washington liked Madeira wine. This was a wine that actually tasted better after it was in the hold of a ship that was out in high waves.
