WASHINGTON — New guidance released Friday by the Pentagon makes it clear that any transgender troops currently in the military can re-enlist in the next several months, even as the department debates how broadly to enforce a ban on their service ordered by President Donald Trump.
In a memo to top military leaders, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said a high-level panel will determine how to implement Trump’s ban on transgender individuals in the military. Trump directed the military to indefinitely extend the ban on transgender individuals enlisting in the service, but he left it up to Mattis to decide if those currently serving should be allowed to stay

this tells us how important it is to fallow a trump presidency with some one else who is not a Washington politicians.
You absolve him but he can overrule or fire anyone he likes.

So if a man is under the delusion he is a woman, Mattis thinks the US military should indulge him.
So what about if a private is under the delusion he is Napoleon?
Would Mattis indulge him and give him command of the 1st Cavalry Division?
I wonder if Trump is letting this b.s. slide for the time being because it looks like we’ll be at war in North Korea soon.
It seems suicidal to idly sit by while an unstable cult regime brainwashed to their core with hatred for the USA builds hundreds of ICBMs topped with hydrogen bombs targeted on numerous US cities. I don’t think Trump wants to idly sit by.

How? Separate them. A ban is a ban. Trump said no trannies. Mattis is countermanding his CinC. If he had countermanded Hussein he would be separated, himself, in five minutes. Mattis is the face of the New Military.

Trump’s decree was no new Trannies and no operations or drugs. That’s going to take care of 99% of them since most enlist in order to get free treatment. He left it up to Mattis what to do about current Trannies in Uniform.

If Trump is socially a liberal, why did he pick Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court, hmmmmm?
We might be talking here about service members who kept their transgenderism private under the old policy, and presented themselves at work as their biological gender. Once Obama lifted the ban on trannies, they came out of the closet. Now they're faced with losing their careers over an issue that they used to keep private and had they known it would've been overturned, they never would've come out publicly in the first place.

Bears repeating. I think you are probably right. What, exactly, is the military doing today? Is cross-dressing allowed while in uniform, or are people expected to present as members of their biological gender?
I honestly don't know. I'm active duty and I have yet to encounter a transgender service member. We might be talking about a dozen, maybe two dozen individuals at most throughout the entire military.
The swamp won. They have Trump pinned into a corner like a king on a chessboard where most of his own side is working against him. He’s only able to move back and forth between 2 or three open squares, beyond that he’s surrounded by his own side working to control him.
Trump’s tweet, “they can serve in no capacity” is toast I guess. Mattis wants them to stay and stay they will. This is the guy Trump used to trot out during the campaign as a new Superman at Defense, the man who would be a breath of fresh air at the Pentagon. In fact not a single Obama policy has changed. The only draining at Defense is Trump’s campaign promises. We see clearly who the real Commander in Chief is.
Unfortunately, the top administrators aren’t affected by war.

Because he is smart. Did you expect him to pick a non-conservative? He promised stacking the USSC and the courts with conservatives.

You might not have noticed, but the last 15 years have been wars on multiple fronts. Draft would solve these problems. When rich family heirs start dying en masse, because they were drafted and did not have to join for free college tuition, the military will get streamlined super fast.
