Bills stadium worker quits following team anthem protests

When the Bills took a knee a stadium worker chose to take a walk.

New Era Field employee Erich Nikischer quit his job at the stadium after 30 years Sunday after several Bills players knelt during the national anthem and others locked arms in response to President Donald Trump's remarks.

"I waited until the National Anthem ended, I took off my shirt, threw my Bills hat on the ground, walked out," Nikischer told WGRZ.

He also said he will never go back to New Era Field again and he won't watch another NFL game until protests stop.

I am a lifelong Bills fan, and after moving to Georgia many moons ago while in High School I picked up the Falcons as my second team.

My daughter has purchased tickets for the Bills-Falcons game this Sunday as a birthday present for me, and since she paid a gazillion bucks for them I am going to the game.

But, after the disgraceful display by the Bills, and No disrespect by the Falcons I will be Decked out in Atlanta gear and for the first time in my life will root against the Bills.

After this week I will be done with the NFL for good.

Stuart Parker is the CEO at USAA and he is on LinkedIn. You can write him and tell him what you think.

Thanks oh8eleven.
My pleasure and welcome back to FR.

Not only did the players across the country protest - the morons did it in London, England. too.
Apparently they never heard of the Dixie Chicks.

Let's hope other stadium employees throughout the league follow suit.

Amen!

Meanwhile:

Steelers' Alejandro Villanueva (former Army Ranger) has highest-selling gear in past 24 hours

Yesterday Alejandro Villanueva defied his team's order of "unity" by hiding like cowards in the team locker room while the National Anthem was played.

Villanueva - a former Army Ranger (and I believe he earned the Bronze Star) - came out of the locker room, and stood with his hand over his heart while our National Anthem was played. He was the ONLY member of the Steelers to do so. Bravo to him!

More background on this story:

Steelers’ black coach unhappy Army vet Villanueva stood for the anthem (Trunc)

I moved from the NYC area to Rochester while still in HS (1964), but always remained a Giants fan.
They're making it oooooh-so easy not to watch this year.

the nfl game viewership may be done but its still a huge industry...

too many multi billions being made...

which is why the billionaires can not let the players stop playing...

they must appease the blacks and if that means stomping on their grandmothers toes, they'll do it...

From yesterday post:

“Roger Goodell and the NFL can kiss my ass and go to hell”.

My sentiments, exactly.

I hope that Alejandro Villanueva follows suit. Its obvious after he caved on his stand for the anthem, he does not really have any friends on his team.
