Bias: The mainstream press paid little attention to the devastation in Puerto Rico all weekend. Then they noticed that President Trump hadn't tweeted about it since Thursday. Now that they can attack Trump, they suddenly care.
On Monday, headlines everywhere all made the same exact point:
"While Trump Tweeted About Sports All Weekend, Puerto Rico Dealt With 'Apocalyptic' Hurricane Damage"
"Trump ignores Puerto Rico's devastation to tweet about the NFL"
"Trump Keeps Tweeting About NFL Protests While Largely Ignoring Puerto Rico"
"Can Trump Stop Feuding With NFL Athletes & Pay Attention To Puerto Rico?"
"Lawmakers condemn President Trump for silence on Puerto Rico crisis while he rants about NFL"
"Trump fixates on NFL protests while ignoring the disaster in Puerto Rico"
For the record, Trump did tweet about Puerto Rico on Thursday, after Hurricane Maria had devastated the island, telling Gov. Richardo Rossello that "we are with you and the people of Puerto Rico. Stay safe! #PR Strong."
And while Trump might not have tweeted about Puerto Rico since then, the U.S. government has hardly been sitting idly by.

“Progressives” - enough said.
It's infinitely worse. When the story makes trump look good, they make up a lie and make sure the lie gets headlines.
It takes five seconds to tweet. The NFL stuff hardly consumed POTUS day, but it certainly consumed his haters a few days in a row now.
DJT said a lot in Alabama regarding issues, its his one NFL comment is what the media ran with for days now.
A lot more has actually been done in Puerto Rico to relieve the distress the people there are under, while attention was directed elsewhere, than may have been done in those first hours, had the efforts immediately grabbed the attention of the talking heads, who would only have criticized and presented endless “ain’t it awful” stories, while contributing nothing to recovery. The quakes in Mexico gained far more attention than the storm disasters in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and the inhabitants of those localities are subjects of the United States, while Mexicans are not.
I agree.
That’s how they do things. Anything that Trump does, or says, or doesn’t do, or doesn’t say is called racist by the phallus-inhaling members of the media.
LOL How many of these people even know PR was about to go bankrupt? Or, how many of them looked at PR’s and thought, “Low life hispanics from some island. Who cares about them?” prior to Sunday?
You have to search high and low in print media to find all we are doing to aid Puerto Rico. Fox, though, did a very good segment on our relief efforts last night.
The narrative being shaped is that Trump doesn’t care about “brown” people.
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Forget them.
Trump has never tweeted about the price of beans in China. The horrors!
First paragraph...
"Large amounts of federal aid began moving into Puerto Rico on Saturday, welcomed by local officials who praised the Trump administration's response but called for the emergency loosening of rules long blamed for condemning the U.S. territory to second-class status."
Had some fun earlier by taking something written about another President
changing a couple of details and replacing the other Presidents name with ‘Trump’.
Sound familiar?...
“Trump has continued during the last week to make a fool of himself and to mortify and shame the intelligent people of this great nation.
His speeches have demonstrated the fact that although originally a real estate magnate and more lately a whimsical story teller and side splitter,
he is no more capable of becoming a statesman, nay, even a moderate one, than the braying ass can become a noble lion.
People now marvel how it came to pass that Trump should have been selected as the representative man of any party.
His weak, wishy-washy, namby-pamby efforts, imbecile in matter, disgusting in manner, have made us the laughing stock of the whole world.
The European powers will despise us because we have no better material out of which to make a President.
The truth is, Trump is only a mediocre businessman and in the larger cities of the Union could pass for no more than a facetious pettifogger.
Take him from his vocation and he loses even these small characteristics and indulges in simple twaddle which would disgrace a well bred school boy.”
