A Michigan couple kept a woman with special needs in a vacant shed and sold her online for sex, police said.
Michael Welch, 38, and Misty George, 30, of Macomb Township, were charged Tuesday with “human trafficking and prostitution earnings,” FOX2 Detroit reported. George was also charged with “using a computer to commit a crime,” the media outlet reported.
It was not clear when the suspects were arrested.
Welch and George, who were believed to be dating and living together, were accused of keeping a woman, 29, with “both mental and physical disabilities” in a vacant shed close to their residence, police said.
They were also accused of creating advertisements selling a date with the woman, who was not identified, and putting the ads on an online website. FOX2 Detroit reported a few men answered the advertisements and paid Welch and George for sexual services.

“After Welch was arraigned, he tried to escape from a police vehicle and a short foot chase ensued before officers caught him and returned him to Macomb County Jail, police said. Welch will face new charges for trying to escape.”
Glad he tried to escape. Hope they give him the max they can for doing that. Hope they also availed themselves of the opportunity to bash his ugly face into the ground in their pursuit of him.

Totally! Wonder how much of her SSI check has been going to him ‘for expenses’.
She’s probably being used by that guy to perform Dirty Deeds.

I am a bit confused. They don’t know how long she’d been gone, but yet, somehow the family got a complaint from her and just picked her up to leave? So, the victim had contact with the outside world, yet only recently did family come and simply take her away, apparently no pure imprisonment and no resistance from the perps, THEN found out about how sordid the issue was? Curious.
These ‘white lives’ do not matter at all.

ugh. i know a young lady (alcoholic) that is in with a BAAAD man. But he tells her she’s beautiful and it’s all good.
I worry he will have her do bad stuff too. She will not listen to me!

(sign) Sometimes these stories can be pretty depressing.
Then I realize that no matter what punishment (if any) might be imposed by the courts, it will pale to the **eternal damnation** (ya, pretty Biblical, eh) they will yet have to suffer under (wait for it...) for all of time and eternity.
I’m not that proud - I can wait. I can only hope I get to stop by from time to time and wave at ‘em from the air-conditioned side of the viewing area....
