At some point the U.S. armed forces cease to be a military force and function no differently than corporate mercenaries.

I'm not sure I would even describe these losses as combat casualties "in the line of duty."

A bit misleading. Ambassador Joe Wilson wouldn’t stay in the hotel on your side of town... he’d be swilling sweet tea by the pool in this side of town, asking around for people who were making yellowcake deals with Saddam Hussein:

Lovely bunch, as lovely a cesspool as Somalia.

Only, Niger’s uranium mines are a good deal more important to keep out of the hands of terrorists.

My question is why can’t the French do it, as it is Cotecna’s stomping grounds?

Probably because while under French control, Niger’s uranium ended up in Qadaffi’s nuclear program.

Yup, we need to get out all Americans out of these small insignificant piss ant countries.

Good Lord, we have not learned a dog gone thing about that Clintoon fiasco in Somalia.

President needs to tell General Mattis and Tillerson that we need to get out of Niger period---End of story!!!

How much Uranium does it have??? If it is not much, why are we still losing American folks!

Is Niger a Mooselimb country or Christian country?

I am simply asking since African countries controlled by the Mooselimbs are a crap hole.

Cotecna changed its name after Iraq... I think it’s called Areva now. Niger’s the 4th largest uranium producer in the world. Other than that it’s so poor it cant even cultivate tourists,... so it exports cowpeas.

This is the country super dooper deep cover CIA spy Valerie Plame’s hubby said was too secure for illicit uranium sales to take place. Made it sound like the place had space age security under French control.

That was before the find in Libya, and before Boko Haram and other groups moved in. As you can see the French have really spiffed up the place after all these years.

WTF are we in ANOTHER former French Colony and continuing a useless mission from the previous administration? That question was rhetorical. I think Kenyan General Obama thought he could use our soldiers as his foreign policy and social agenda play things. The whole African Command thing needs to be scrapped and resources put back to Southeast Asia and Pacific Rim. Our soldiers are not mercenaries, hand holders or fodder. If the corporate overlords want to protect precious resources they need to hire some highly competent security firms. Obviously, just like the Mideast, most countries cannot field an even slightly competent army that can defeat Islamic terror groups. I will say payback is due to the mother-fer dogs who did this.

FTA: "Africa Command says the U.S. forces are in Niger to provide training and security assistance to the Nigerien Armed Forces in their efforts against violent extremists."

So it looks like a FID (foreign internal defense) and counterguerilla mission. We've run those all over the world for many, many years. The mission is fairly typical, the ambush and KIA are definitely not.

So why haven’t the racist black in the NFL gone to this amazing African country, settled in, and made it the great place they claim only blacks can do because whites suck so much??

Uranium constitutes almost 75% of Niger’s exports.

Niger was Ambassador’s Joseph Wilson’s (husband of “secret agent” Valerie Plame Wilson) former post and subject of his “investigative” trip and infamous report about talks between Iraq and Niger about possible purchase of uranium.

Thanks for that reminder.
