Did Trump Break His Promise on Jerusalem?
American Thinker ^ | 10/12/2017 | By Shoula Romano Horing

President Donald Trump said Saturday he will not go ahead with his campaign promise to move the American embassy to Israel’s capital, Jerusalem, until after he pushes for an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal. Saying” I wanna give it a shot before I even think about moving the embassy to Jerusalem. “

First, President Trump should know that there is exactly zero chance for any so-called "peace deal" to be forged while the Palestinian Authority monetarily compensates terrorists who kill Jews and names squares, streets, schools and summer camps after these so-called martyrs. Second, the Palestinian Arabs desire East Jerusalem, including the Old City and the Temple Mount, to be their future capital in any peace deal, despite the fact that Jerusalem has never been the capital of any state other than a Jewish one. Trump must be informed that for 19 years from 1948 to 1967, Jews have already witnessed and experienced what Arab rule in the West Bank and East Jerusalem will bring to the Jewish state and it was not peace.

In 1948, the day after the British left and Israel declared its independence, five Arab armies invaded the newly declared Jewish state. As a result, the British-led Jordanian Army conquered the West Bank and the Old City of Jerusalem which housed the Jewish quarter and Jews’ holiest sites, including the Western Wall and Temple Mount. In the end, the 1400 Jews who lived in the Jewish Quarter within the walls of the Old City had to negotiate their surrender to the Arabs and their expulsion to western Jerusalem which the Israelis held onto.

Consequently, 35 ancient synagogues in the Old City were destroyed, desecrated, and razed by the Jordanians and their interiors used as hen houses or stables filled with dung heaps, garbage, and carcasses.

1. The U.S. embassy in Israel will eventually be moved to Jerusalem.

2. It isn't going to happen until the final legal status of Jerusalem is determined. This may involve the establishment of a Palestinian capital in East Jerusalem.

There's no way in hell the U.S. is going to put its embassy on land that is subject to a diplomatic and legal dispute. President Trump is no fool. As a real estate developer, he knows better than anyone else the importance of clear property titles in the development and construction business.

Jerusalem is the capitol of Israel,
and Pres. Trump made a promise (like removing ObamaCARE)
that has still not been kept.

There’s plenty of well documented Israeli owned land in Jerusalem. Trump has bought into the “let’s negotiate” BS line of the Arabs.

It’s not that easy to move an embassy. Security and all that has to be put in place first. But then, pulling back? Dunno. Trump in a way is kinda scaring me with his waffling on things he said he’d do when president.

Moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem does nothing to Make America Great Again.

This is Javanka's influence, count on it.

There can be no "peace deal" with people who want Israel annihilated.

When is the PA/PLO foreign aid going to be cut off for paying terrorists and their families who killed many Americans along with Israelis?

I won’t forget Trump said this many times. Moving the Embassy was one promise Trump said needed to be done because it was long promised and never kept.

Before anyone plays the Trump promised game you need to evaluate the nature and goal of the promise. Reading Scott Adam’s blog will help anyone understand a Trump promise.

The embassy, the wall, the dreamers, health care, etc. I believe I understand how Trump operates so I am happy to say I do not believe he will build a wall as envisioned by some to be a huge barrier from end to end. I won’t even be a tenth of that. But we are checking immigration and we are changing the nature of it. The border is being secured. That is the goal.

The embassy? Same theme. But I am not so clear on what Trump’s goal is in Israel.

As a GOP candidate Donald Trump originally said he wanted to diminish the U.S. role in the Middle East and let Israel and the Palestinians figure everything out for themselves. He only became an apologist for Israel after the neo-con globalists in the GOP field attacked him over that.

Would not make sense to put it on disputed land at this time - unless we want to have extra troops on the ground to prevent another Benghazi....

Whether President Trump would move the US embassy to Jerusalem now or later, the result with the ‘screaming mimi’s’ better known as the arabs, would be the same.
There will be no peace until Jesus comes back to this earth.

We’re coming up on a somewhat quiet period as the cash flow into the Middle East is curtailed. Middle Eastern regimes will have to maintain domestic spending to stay in power leaving less money for funding terrorism. The Saudi’s panicked funding of the anti-fracking campaign acknowledges the threat to their cash flow.

A lot of Jerusalem territory lay west of the Armistice line of 1948. The modern city of Jerusalem has grown expeditiously. The vast majority of Jerusalem's area lay west of that line

Simple. just place the US embassy and all other embassies in the area west of the armistice line. Unfortunately, in the view of Arab Muslims these embassies would be in Jerusalem, and be recognized as Israel's capital. This despite Jerusalem being established as the capital of Israel over 3,000 year ago.

The problem is that all Palestinian Arab groups (PLO, Hamas, and all others) claim that Israel has no right to exist at all. They refuse to recognize Israel as a Jewish state.

Most of them view the states of Jordan and Israel, along with the area called the West Bank, to be the Palestinian state. “From the river to the Sea” is their cry.

Over the last 70 years nothing has changed. Areas of the world invaded, taken, and occupied by Muslims invaders are viewed by Muslims as permanently and forever part of the Muslim world.

They play word games, and refuse to negotiate a peace deal.

If embassies were placed in what is known as the western area of Jerusalem (the area that has been part of Israel since 1948), the Muslim world would be enraged. They would be enraged because the embassies would be in part of a city and area that they claim as Palestinian. Remember that they claim Palestine covers the area from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, along with Jordan.
