For the record, we have a consulate in Jerusalem and it’s near the Damascus gate of the Old City where the arab quarter is.

Huh? Just going with what Rush was saying also. The president has no business telling a business how to have their employees act.

Did Trump Break His Promise on Jerusalem?

I consider this promise as among the more important promises to set the world on a path to rejecting two-legged animal control of a very important issue facing the contemporary world.

If Trump was unaware of history before being elected president, sure, he can go right ahead and "give it a shot" where so many previous U.S. presidents have failed; sure, why not?

But once reality returns, and is confirmed, I surely hope that he keep his promise, and deals with the consequences, sooner rather than later.

2. It isn't going to happen until the final legal status of Jerusalem is determined. This may involve the establishment of a Palestinian capital in East Jerusalem.

Impossible.
This is simply rearranging the deck chairs on the koranimal titanic.

It will simply surround Israel with a tighter, more formidable threat. Makes so sense whatsoever.

Jordan's status is subject to change instantly, and the koranimal grip on it has already been demonstrated. The koranimal presence in Jordan (killer poulation) is constantly on a hair-trigger

Israel agreeing to any similar "compromise" is demonstrably suicidal.

What is it about the history of muslim determination for the last 58 years to destroy Israel that is so hard to grasp or understand?

You’re making a terrible argument there. If the situation is as dire as you make it sound, then perhaps the whole region is too unstable for the U.S. to have ANY embassies there.

“In the News/Activism forum, on a thread titled Did Trump Break His Promise on Jerusalem?,

What business is Trump interfering with by keeping his Promise on Jerusalem?

How you knew he was running for president: he promised to move the embassy to Jerusalem.

How you knew he was president: he didn't do it.

Everybody promises -- Clinton, Bush, McCain -- but nobody does it.

Obama didn't promise, but maybe he wasn't really president.

Move the embassy to Jerusalem, NOW. There is no peace deal to be made, at least, not without doing that first. The US can't be an honest broker if it doesn't control its own foreign policy, which means, Hamas, Fatah, and the rest of the mass-murdering terrorist assholes of the PLO need to be brought up by the short hairs, NOW. Thanks SeekAndFind.

Obviously he did. The only basis for delaying the move is the threat to our national security it would cause. Presumably like GWB a foreign affairs neophyte, he's learned from those with more knowledge since taking office. While I personally don't see the threat in moving the Embassy to a site that's been part of Israel since 1948, he's President. I don't see the situation changing in the next few years. Though politics, not national security, could change. Payments to terrorists are probably a more important issue.
