Trump Asks, Where Is Justice Department on Comey's Exoneration of Hillary Clinton?
CNS News ^ | 10/18/17 | Susan Jones

In two tweets on Wednesday morning, President Donald Trump returned to the subject of former FBI Director James Comey, once again showing frustration with his own Justice Department.

"Wow, FBI confirms report that James Comey drafted letter exonerating Crooked Hillary Clinton long before investigation was complete. Many people not interviewed, including Clinton herself. Comey stated under oath that he didn't do this-obviously a fix? Where is Justice Dept?" Trump asked.

"As it has turned out, James Comey lied and leaked and totally protected Hillary Clinton. He was the best thing that ever happened to her!" Trump added in a third tweet.

Meanwhile, Clinton herself, in recent appearances to promote her new book, continues to blame Comey for her election defeat.

As Fox News reported, "Newly released FBI records...confirmed that Comey drafted a statement on the Clinton case two months before interviewing her and eventually recommending no criminal charges."

According to the report, Comey's email exchange with colleagues came to light after Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) reviewed transcripts of interviews with top Comey aides who alluded to the emails.

"According to the senators, the transcripts show Comey began drafting an 'exoneration statement' for Clinton two months before as many as 17 key witnesses were interviewed and the FBI case was closed," Fox News reported.

On July 5, Comey announced that, "Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case."

Comey's announcement came one week after then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch met privately with Bill Clinton in a remote area of an airport in Arizona.

Sessions is proving how useless he is in his Senate testimony this morning. He can’t discuss this , he can’t discuss that and Rosenstein is a man of integrity. Asked if Rosenstein should recuse from investigating the Uranium 1 deal he said that would be up to Rosenstein...what?

YES! Sessions, Rosenstein, and McCabe, and tell Wray if he wants to stay Director of the FBI he’d better start cleaning house immediately!

I would suspect that the guys in charge have been forcing his top guys to toe the line for Hillary and a bunch of them are not happy. Remember when Comey came out and let Hillary off the hook and then had to open it back up before he let her off the hook again? I heard rumblings that he was getting major blowback from his own men which was why he opened it back up. They were furious as well as the NYPD who had been going through the Weiner info.

I don't think the entire FBI and the DOJ are entirely corrupt. They have had really rotten leadership and they need those factions within their organizations pulled out by the roots.

I think this is another one of Trump’s set up tweets. He is laying the groundwork for something.

Hopefully.

Ok...

Then get off your ass and ensure your senator will confirm the replacement.

Can’t guarantee that?

Well now you understand why Sessions is still there.

Sometimes it seems like the deep state is so entrenched that even the president of the United States is powerless to do anything about it. Maybe there really is another party running this entire show..........

Sounds like a run-up to doing something. First you show everyone there is a problem. Then you fix it.

“Stop tweeting and start firing.”

Precisely.
You’re not a concerned private citizen anymore, President Trump. You’re the bull goose.

Trump, do something.
___

You’re exactly right. Sessions appearing before the senate judiciary committtee now. I get the sense that nothing (shock, shock) is going to come out of this hearing. Sad.

I’ve been off my ass. Rubio and Nelson will confirm. He can get rid of more than just Sessions. Call the DFBI and tell him to get rid of the bad seeds or he goes with them.

“You’re the President....You can fix this.”

So. Why hasn’t he?

I think these tweets are due to the fact that he is aware that a lot of folks like you and me are starting to get really ticked off at this crap.

But, still no action. He should just walk across the hall and start firing people.

He’s the President. Stop tweeting and start firing. He’s not powerless here.

LOL, you don't know how the federal government functions, do you?

The President's cabinet appointments—such as AG—must pass muster in the US Senate.

The President can't just go around firing Swamp creatures willy-nilly—as much as it may be warranted—because he (unfortunately, at the moment) is dependent on that same Swamp to approve their replacements.

Sometimes, it sucks not to be a dictator. That's why #Drain the Swamp and #MAGA are going to be an arduous and time-consuming process, requiring great patience from the People...

By the way, when you post an article, why not offer an initial comment to get the ball rolling?

This whole "fire and forget" routine with article postings is becoming a pet peeve of mine. I can't remember ever posting an article without at least offering an opening comment; it seems almost antagonistic otherwise...
