In an interview with C-SPAN about the Vietnam War that ran over the weekend, Sen. John McCain said this:
"One aspect of the conflict, by the way, that I will never, ever countenance is that we drafted the lowest income level of America, and the highest income level found a doctor that would say they had a bone spur. That is wrong. That is wrong. If we are going to ask every American to serve, every American should serve."
While McCain didn't mention any names, anyone paying any sort of attention knows that he is talking about President Donald Trump, who received five deferments during the Vietnam War, including one for -- you guessed it! -- bone spurs.

Not only that, but McCain said we had nothing to fear from an Obama Presidency. Like 2 weeks before the general election. Right then and there I knew our asses were cooked.
I served in the Navy.
John “Songbird” McCain will regret what he’s doing.
Dear CNN,
Donald Trump is President of the United States, and John McCain is a traitor dying of brain cancer.
That is all.
Cancer will get the traitor, only a matter of time ...
McCain never fooled Trump. He supported Obama instead.
One wonders what is was he was promised, that he is now missing out on because Hillary is not President.
McCain and Hillary should go on a “Why We Are Losers” tour.
Yes John McCain served, but do you think he did so because it was the family business?
But Annapolis, with its regimentation and lockstep curriculum, would provide no such opportunity. Annapolis was a commitment, more so for McCain because of the family tradition. Under the law he could get out of the Navy four years after graduation, but would he? Here he was at Episcopal, feeling himself drawn toward a school he despised by forces he felt incapable of challenging. Was there any reason, then, to believe that after four years at Annapolis and a similar period as a naval officer he would be able to defy those same forces whoever they were, whatever they were and resign his commission to embark on some new, ill-defined career path?

So we have Ted Cruz and John McCain. Both have clashed with Trump, and in both cases it got personal and nasty. Cruz has put aside his personal gripes and is honoring his commitments to his voters and staying true to his convictions, supporting Trump in the Senate. McCain has cast aside just about everything he ever claimed to stand for in a vindictive, petty quest for “revenge” against Trump. I’ll always honor McCain’s service to his nation as a member of the military, but as an elected representative of conservative voters, he has been a disgrace.
He skated through on his father’s reputation crashed a couple of planes and then got caught hardly the hero he would like to think he is
It's unfortunate that the former Obama/Bill Clinton supporter inspires uncritical faith.
FNN thinks Songbird is having “revenge” on Trump? This is because they have never been Ina military uniform or even a Boy Scouts. They are making the same mistake they made the first time Trump alluded to Songbird being a traitor when he was a pow Wich was exactly nowhere since it is true. This will end very badly for Songbird.
I don’t really know, I know his father was an Admiral in the Navy as a Submarine Commander and Later Submarine Squadron Commander and served with Distinction. He participated in the U.S. Torch Landings in North Africa and then rest of the war in the Pacific.
So it is possible, as you note, that John McCain was told by his Naval Father that he “would serve in the Navy” and that was the end of that. So would he have joined if the decision was left up to himself, maybe not? Nobody will ever no for sure.
I’m pretty sure we agree. I’ve not made a study of Luther. But I have heard some Roman Catholics in the past say that Luther erred in believing that accepting Christ means a person can now continue to sin without regret or repentance. As I say, I don’t know what Luther thought, but I’d agree that accepting Christ does not seem to me be be a get-out-of-jail-free card for sins I might enjoy and plan to commit in the future.
If I were McCain, I’d be thinking about repenting for things I had done in the past and be trying not do more of the same. I understand that G-d is not mocked. It’s possible, of course, that with his brain damage, McCain can’t help himself.
And I do like the .45-70. Had one about 25 years and it has never failed to do its job. The older I get, the less I enjoy sighting it in, though. :-)
I have made a study of the Bible (not any man, e.g. Luther). And the promises are clear -- once saved, always saved. There are so many scriptures to support this, I'll give one:
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24)
Note: "hath everlasting life" -- the believer has (present tense) everlasting life. Not temporary life, but ever lasting. Don't listen to those who try to twist "the Greek". It means the same thing in Greek as it does in English (B.A. Greek/Latin, Santa Barbara)
Note: "and shall not come into condemnation" -- one will never lose this ever lasting life and be condemned (damned) and go to hell. There is no "future" condemnation.
Note:"passed from death unto life" -- No longer dead in trespasses and sins, but alive(!) forever more, like the Savior who saves. We are raised with him and shall never die.
I like black powder, mostly 50cal ball. I shoot less and enjoy it more!
And how this is helping the citizens of Arizona?
To each his own I am not a fan of McCain and frankly never have been. Apparently some have blind faith in him as well
I’ve often been very angry with him. And I support President Trump’s attacks on him, especially for being a POW in an unpopular war, getting shot down (how lame can a pilot be?), and for not getting Congress to kowtow to the Executive Branch.
Get it you love McCain good for you I don’t Case Closed to each his own have a great day
