So Ed's loss isn't the fault of Ed? Those 13 incumbents who lost in the HoD is all Trump's fault?

Someone educate me about Scott Taylor. Is he a RINO?

A RINO lost last night so we need to be more anti Trump when we pick candidates? Is that the take away? The GOP on VA is a lunatic asylum.

State house goes from 66 Republicans to 52 on Dem turnout. That’s not about local issues, that’s about a motivated Dem base (and a less motivated Republican one).

This is going to be the story up until the 2018 elections. The swamp creatures will attempt to use these losses as a way to get Trump “back in line...or else!”. They want to pin everything on him so badly, but they have brought it on themselves.

It’s a referendum on Virginians are idiots and deserve what they get, e.g. McAuliffe.

An amnesty RINO losing to a Communist is a referendum on Trump? What world do these people live in?

It’s not surprising that Gillespie lost. Clinton won this state as well, but the huge swing in the legislature is very noticeable. That’s a gerrymandered body where such huge swings ought not to be possible, at least not without a huge surge in turnout for one side only.

Last year, Scott Taylor was touted as the anti-RINO candidate who defeated a pro-TPP GOP eight-term incumbent, Randy Forbes. But ever since being in office, he’s been quite virulently anti-Trump, accusing him of a “failure of leadership” over Charlottesville. He also endorsed the Equality Act for homosexual “rights” back in May.

Scott Taylor is prescribing hemlock as the new GOPe strategy. How insightful he is!

So now Ed Gillespie will be hard to work on his new book: “What Happened - @MeToo”. Look for the never-ending tour to start in a few months.

Go conservative, like Trump, and win.
Go RINO like Gillespie, and lose.
Trump’s fault? Eh?

This election wasn’t a referendum on Trump. It was more of a sign of panic among government employees and employees of government contractors about budget cuts and job cuts in massively overstaffed federal bureaucracies. The Trump administration is cutting back on all the unnecessary, expensive bureaucratic process in Washington and will be laying off thousands of government employees and contract employees in the next few years. There’s panic in Northern Virginia as Trump works to end the scam of endless expansion of government programs that cost at least 25% more than necessary (if the program is necessary at all) and endless federal debt piled on the backs of the American people.

Trump’s predecessor was a disaster for the American people and our economy, but he was a huge deficit spender on bureaucracy and government contractors, except for the military. This election is mainly a sign of panic and fear about job losses in Virginia among those on the government payroll.

“I don’t know how you get around that this wasn’t a referendum on the administration, I just don’t," Taylor told reporters at Gillespie's election night party.

Gillespie rejecting Trump is the reason why this vote wasn't a repudiation of Trump. The democrats rejected Trump by rejecting a republican. The republicans didn't have a pro-Trump choice.
