Politics of Denunciation Will Soon Have To Stop Even If Moore Is Doomed

At some point, this practice of denunciation being insuperable and due process just an irritant and a useless antiquity, like an appendix — as it has been in the Weinstein and Moore cases — will have to stop, if the United States wishes to retain any credibility as a society of laws. It is hard not to look upon the Roy Moore imbroglio as another well-timed hit-job from a familiar and well-practiced source — the same people who thought they had destroyed the Trump campaign ...

It only "works" because Republicans don't have the stomach for a fight.

It also works because the Republicans don't have the nerve to throw the first punch.

What is not clear to me is how people can make up complete fabrications and pass them as truth, and get away with it.?.? If lies are in a legal setting, isn’t this perjury? The Trump Dossier has been shown to be a complete fabrication. Perjury in a legal setting. Why aren’t these liars brought to justice for lying, defamation of character, slander, etc...

The regressive left is adopting a lot of ideas from Islam.

Scream racist/sexist/sexual harasser and it is like a Muslim screaming blasphemy - no due process, no protection by law enforcement, you’re assumed guilty and the lynch mob gathers to tear you down.

No one is allowed to question the sacred liberal ideology. To utter contrary “hate facts” or question contradictions shall get you shunned and shamed at best, physically attacked at worst.

To question dogma or defend a contrary view is an attack on the dominant ideology. Whether the official victim whether Muslim or oppressed minority shall never have their “narrative” questioned. To do so is to have the label of -ist/-phobe/blasphemer applied to you and you shall be attacked mercilessly for life.

The moral weight of the accuser depends on their ideology. The liberal accuser is to be given more weight than a conservative one just as Muslims have twice as much weight in court as a non-Muslim. Liberals are outright saying this.

Good luck with that. I can’t imagine why any decent Christian would even want to stand for election among a citizenry comprised of other Christians.

How many accusers would come forward if the had to sign legal documents attesting to their claims ?

Plenty. Since it's impossible to disprove most of these 'he said, she said' crap, no legal document concerning it could have any force.

This is a brilliant discussion of the current state of Trumpism, as affected by the ongoing character assassination against him—and any governmental candidate who would assist MAGA, in the Senate or elsewhere.

If Moore is doomed over this non-scandal, then we’re not strong enough as conservatives or as Americans to keep this Republic.

Excuse me???
A)The ones he agrees he dated with consent from their Moms or B)the ones that forged their document, got the name wrong, the restaurants name wrong, the yearbook date wrong...or C)the one that accused several other pastors, proven false accusations, and lied about her phone and the boyfriend etc...

Which “accusation” comes form someone who is not already exposed as fabricating?

What if Moore’s accusers are not fabricating?

The burden of proof should be on them. The Dems had a parade of 16 women during the campaign claiming sexual misconduct against Trump. Is the seriousness of the allegation more important than the facts?

We know that Bill Clinton committed sexual assaults, including an alleged rape and that he had "consensual sex" in the Oval Office with an intern as old as his daughter. We know that Senator Robert Byrd as a high ranking member of the KKK. We know that Ted Kennedy allowed a young girl to drown while he left the scene to cover his tracks and get legal advice.

Senator Menendez may get off thru jury nullification, but notice that none of the Dems are throwing him under the bus. And Lindsay Graham testified on his behalf attesting to his character.

We all know what this is about. The GOPe would rather lose the seat than see another conservative in the Senate. The hypocrisy is mind-blowing.

What if Moore’s accusers are not fabricating?

How would this be determined given the 40 odd days until the election? And if they can't be proven, given the hatred for Moore by McConnell & company and the despicable WoPo bias, Moore must be believed until additional damaging evidence is presented. This presumption of innocence is basic to our values and if the Senate and media chose to throw it away, our nation is over.
