House Democrats mocked Republicans after the lower chamber passed legislation to overhaul the tax code on Thursday, implying that they would pay for the vote at the ballot box.

House Republicans had started to clap after the tax-reform bill received enough votes to pass when Democrats joined in and sang “na na na na, hey hey, goodbye."

Why are any Democrats even being allowed to participate in congressional activity? Tip O’Neal NEVER would have let a Republican even speak on the floor, let alone take part in anything.

I’d mock them too. The so called “tax cut” is an utter joke on all of us

Alinsky Rule 5:

If, as evidence seems to indicate, this tax plan winds up increasing taxes for a large percentage of middle-class taxpayers then the Democrats will be right.

The Democrats are right this time. The GOP will lose the House in 2018 because of this stupid tax increase on the middle class bill.

In this case the rat faction of the uniparty is right. This “tax reform” is a nail in the gop factions coffin.

Tax cuts for corporations paid for by the middle class. Great optics. Get ready for a rat faction supermajority.

Politics is a scam and we’re suckers for playing.

It won’t pass the senate anyway. This is for the House GOP to go home for the holidays when they face constituents. They can say Hey we tried.

I’m middle class and my taxes will be going up while the value of my house will go down. Great job Republicans.

There are 34 Republican House members from CA, NY, NJ and IL.

All of them that voted yes are in deep trouble.

Even if every one of those seats (voted for the bill, from leftist State) is lost, the Republicans will still hold the House. More than 10 of the 21, who did not vote for the bill, could have voted against it, and it still would have passed. I think that's a pretty good indication that those 21 are too concerned about being reelected.

I think they are not too worried, because for every Republican voter in those states who see's his taxes rise, there will be 9 Democratic voter who will be surprised to see his taxes go down. So, if only a quarter of those Democratic voters, who receive a tax cut, rethinks voting Democrat? I think you can do the math.

You must be immune to Obamacare.

The Obamcare tax will be huge for us this year. Higher than our federal and state taxes combined.

Honestly, I don’t understand your logic.

It only takes 24 GOP no votes to stop the GOP in the House.

And I don’t understand the “10 of the 21” you’re trying to convey.

You are only looking at one side of the equation. There will be many times more Democrats who are going to get larger than expected refunds, than there will be Republicans who see a tax increase. Once these Democrats get these larger than expected refunds, some of them may figure out that their party lied to them, and the cuts didn't go only to the rich.

I think the Republicans will lose a few seats, but not too many. This tax cut is going to solidify Trumps gains in the rust belt. And, I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few, long held Democrat seats, switch over.

I don’t think so. This garbage bill is a huge tax increase for millions in the middle class. And it is all to pay for a huge corporate tax cut from 35% to 20% - that’s the heart of the bill. All our deductions are going to be destroyed and made illegal, except possibly for mortgage interest. And to make matters worse, corporations get to keep the same deductions that they are taking away from the rest of us. It isn’t “simplification”. It’s a huge tax increase. The Senate bill is even worse. And to be quite honest about it, the GOP deserves to lose after what they are doing. They sold us out in favor of the rich donors and the corporations.

I don’t think you really understand how bad this bill is. The Democrat ads attacking those members who voted for a huge tax increase on the middle class are going to write themselves. And this time the Democrats don’t even have to exaggerate or lie. Oh, we are going to lose the House all right. Mark my words.
