The accusation needs to be made in a timely manner. Like...when there is still evidence that could CLEAR the accused. 34 states have statute of limitations on rape and sexual assault. New York is NOT one of them. So the woman needs to give Lauer his day in court. File charges NOW. Or shut up.
Automatic guilt at accusation is not justice. It is obscene. I haven’t watched Matt Lauer on Today since he had a full head of hair, but guilty OR innocent, he deserves a day in court! If guilty, I’ll support the death penalty. But men shouldn’t have their lives destroyed by accusations alone.
Right - and what these news reports seem to be implying is that the remote function doesn’t alert the alleged victims to the fact that the secretary can’t just barge in.
Most men I know in positions of authority are afraid to be alone in an office with a woman for fear of being falsely accused later on.
They’ll either leave their door wide open - pull up their window blinds- or invite another person in to “take notes”

You can IMAGINE all sorts of things, if you like, but you’ve missed my point entirely.
Having worked with many in law enforcement, I’ve learned a thing or two. One of the things that make them suspicious about a story is when they can give details about everything EXCEPT the part that is the lie.
They tell you the time of day, color of carpet, smell of cigarette smoke, who was standing where, clothing, etc etc...
Then “and then he raped me” with NO detail.
The details about unimportant things compared to the LACK OF details about the most important things, is what I am pointing out.
The purported accusation reads like bad porn directed at a male audience, a lot of ego and fantasy there, sordid as that sounds. Maybe a little spin and ego boost was in order, to get him out the door with minimal additional complications. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was a discrete settlement coming to not just the accuser but the accused. From what I’ve understood, there’s a decades-long and peculiar history with this one, he’s been pretty egalitarian about dropping trou. He’d want any personal exposé to tell a certain story to deflect anyone who might consider delving further and publicizing that aspect. That’s my observation and opinion on the matter.
I bet after his firing, the office was emptied, gutted, wiring stripped, redrywalled, and painted.

I’m sure there would have to be some chemical agent responsible for the passing out part. Now that more details have emerged, I’m thinking they’re both a bit “off”
I was thinking of my cousin who got a pacemaker because whenever her head was upside down she fainted.
Also, some people faint at emotional trauma. She’s terrified of her famous boss and realizes she is actually being RAPED by him...
