Even more significant from an Islamic standpoint, he’s helping a Shiite regime, though he himself is in the camp of Sunni jihadis.

Is there even a need for any US military personnel to be stationed in Turkey? It’s time to kick this anti-Western country out of NATO and withdraw all our forces. With “allies” like this, who needs enemies? Pretty soon Turkey will be another addition to the “Axis of Evil”.

One day Erdogan’s Turkey will be cooked, and I don’t mean the bird.

Thanks LSUfan. Oh, it's gotta be about time for another roundup of falsely accused anti-Turkish conspirators.

from 2013:
Turkish Corruption Investigation Throws Government Into Crisis
A Turkish police investigation into an alleged multimillion-dollar gold-buying scheme involving Iran is creating a major political crisis for Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The complicated affair has seen Erdogan this week accuse police officials of launching a “dirty operation” against his government as they have targeted the sons of three cabinet members along with some 80 other businesspeople and bureaucrats in the bribery and fraud investigation.

At the same time, Erdogan has hinted that those who launched the investigation belong to an organization seeking to tarnish his government and “become a state within a state.”

Some of the most sensational reported discoveries were shoe boxes stuffed with $4.5 million in cash in the home of the chief executive of state-run Halkbank and a money-counting machine and piles of cash in the bedroom of one government minister’s son.

Today:

Erdogan, his son, brother-in-law, father-in-law and his clerk press charges against opposition leader Kilicdaroglu for “making public hate them,” demanding ~ $382,000 in non-pecuniary damages. Kilicdaroglu unveiled family of Erdogan’s hidden wealth on Tuesday.

What difference, now, does it make?

We’ve given them everything they want, and a few billion in cash and gold on top just for good measure. As if expecting them to honor the Geneva Convention against the threat of US Military might wasn’t enough to ensure they protect captured servicemen, we had to pay them a bribe.

This is not a plot. Turkey actually did this on huge scale. Indisputable.

Not surprised since Erdogan was up to his neck in the Iranian-backed, Zapatero-backed “Alliance of Civilizations” scheme.

That also involved a crooked Malaysian leader’s son as I recall.
