Among Alabamians who voted in Tuesday’s election, 17 percent were black women. Of those women, 98 percent pulled the lever for Jones. Soon afterward, #BlackWomen began trending on Twitter as did the requests by those women to be paid for their help:

Well they are going to be VERY disappointed when they find out that Jones, being the junior Senator of the minority party in the Senate will be virtually powerless to advance legislation or do much of anything. Also the fact that even most Democrats figure he will be gone in 2020 means that he won’t be given any real juicy committee assignments.
Why is it when you start digging into these things on FB or Twitter it ALWAYS leads back to a gay guy posted something that then grew.

People in AL have a strong inclination to preserve the welfare state, as we see in the returns.
One conversation overheard earlier this week, in brief, in a hotel lobby:
Black man: Trump is stupid with all the things he says.
Black woman: True but to be fair anyone following Obama would look stupid.
There in a nutshell is a portion of America. And imagine if a white man called Obama stupid in such a manner.
