No, Huma Abedin and Anthony Weiner aren’t calling off their divorce

But no, despite the buzz around the New York Post’s story, “Huma Abedin and Anthony Weiner call off divorce,” the truth is more mundane. They’re not calling off the divorce, they’re merely settling it out of court to spare their young son some future agony.

Huma Abedin and convicted perv Anthony Weiner agreed Wednesday to finalize their divorce out of court, seeking to protect their 6-year-old son from an embarrassing public separation…

“In order to ensure the proceedings have a minimal impact on their child, the parties have decided to finalize their divorce swiftly and privately,” Abedin attorney Charles Miller said in a statement.

The judge confirmed from the bench that the case had been discontinued.

Exit question: How long before the president tweets something congratulating Huma for dumping the “pervert loser” or whatever? Over/under is four hours.

A wife can’t be forced to testify against her husband and vice-a-versa...it’s as simple as that.

Actually a good tactic.

About a third of divorces are “amicably”.

I’ll bet that the amicable terms they agree to mean that the protection against each others’ testimony will be continued in perpetuity, because they will not legally dissolve the marriage until after the statute of limitations runs out.

bad reporting. they just settled out of court and the judge will sign the final decree and adopt the settlement agreement.

the settlement agreement can survive a voluntary dismissal and later refilling.

Hope they included a plan for their son, in case both parents are in jail at the same time.

Yeah, Im not sure I believe this report or the TMZ report.

Any settlement agreement would need to go before the judge anyways, and it could have been presented at the time the divorce request was withdrawn. If one had not been worked out, they would have asked for another court date.

My guess is they’re sticking together for legal reasons.

This guy offers no proof whatsoever of his contention that they’re still getting divorced. Of course, the Post story also lacks proof for their interpretation of today’s events. But the Post noted that there were other possibilities. This guy acts far more certain with even less evidence.

Not being one of those, I have NO idea.

I've lost count, but this is either the second or third time, this "divorce" has been "called off" and it ALWAYS happens right after the bovine excrement hits thew rotary blades, vis-a-vis the CLASSIFIED, GOVERNMENT emails on Weiner's laptop gets talked about.

Why would they??

I could care less about their divorce.

I would like to see them both wind up in jail.
