Democrats Reject Trump’s Amnesty Framework, Seek Alliance With GOP’s Business Wing
Breitbart.com ^ | 4 Feb 2018 | Neil Munro

Democratic Senators are rejecting President Donald Trump’s four-part amnesty-and-immigration reform, and are instead working with business-first GOP Senators to pass an amnesty with only token reforms.

“There is not likely to be a DACA deal, though we’re working every single day, on telephone calls and person to person, to try to reach this bipartisan agreement,” Sen. Dick Durbin told Jake Tapper on the February 4 edition of CNN’s State of the Union. Durbin said the Democrats would not stage another shutdown, but declared:

I think we’re making real progress. I want to salute the moderates in both the Republicans and Democratic caucuses in the Senate. They have really been a positive voice, Democrats and Republicans sitting in the same room working to try to solve this problem.

The Democrats’ sharp-elbowed rejection of Trump’s four-part plan — including an amnesty for at least 1.8 million illegals — explains Trump’s Friday complaints that Democrats are not bargaining over his four-part framework offer. The offer trades the amnesty in exchange for a border wall with legal upgrades, plus ending the diversity lottery and winding down the chain migration program over the next 10 years.

I’ll be damned - they actually fell for it.

I realize that your garden variety dhimmicrat is about as smart as an overripe Kumquat, but I was hesitant to believe that they would willingly step right into Trump’s rat trap.

Trump offered them a deal that was 99% of what the idiots wanted. Now they’ve rejected it. Are they seriously demented enough to feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel that they will get anything better?

Whadda bunch of ultra-maroons!

Pubs almost to a person, are corporatist globalist true believers. Ship out to maquilas as many jobs as you can and bring in wage undercutters for as many as you can. Kill the middle class. Keep the profits to yourselves and sxxew America and American legal workers.

If the majority of Pubs in Congress think they can get away with this, they will vote for it.

And do not be fooled by the sudden pretenders in both partys.

"Democratic Senators are rejecting President Donald Trump’s four-part amnesty-..."

Excellent news!

As I understand it:

4-days to first important deadline (everbody alread signed up has to renew (good just till Sept) and no more new sign-ups)

6-months to "kill DACA" and begin deportations deadline (Sept 12)...

final deadline Sept 2018 when last box cars to mexico loaded with the remaining scumbag invaders departs...

It will never pass the House, let alone get veto-proof.

Nice try, though.

Trump smocked them out. They obviously aren’t in his for “the dreamers”. If they were this would be a done deal. They won’t pass anything but they’ll have something to run off of

I’m thinking this will be one of those kinda votes that a senator voting against the Trump protocol would not be reelected.

I worded my comment bad. But the bottom line is that they’re not going to double-cross Trump. Not even the minority that’s needed to override him. The Republicans may be ‘globalists’, but the vast majority do want to keep their seats. They had 8 YEARS to team up with Obama to pass Amnesty, when far fewer Republican votes were needed - they won’t do it over Trump’s veto.

My only worry has been where Trump would wind up on this, since he has expressed ‘concern’ for the DACA bunch. But so far, his position is fine with me.
