Let's face it, nobody but my mother-in-law likes phone solicitors. She'll talk to them for hours and the Jehovah's Witnesses that knock on her door every Saturday morning. She once hung up on my wife because the Jehovah's witnesses were knocking on the door.
But this is mostly about handling phone solicitors. The phone rings. You know immediately it's a solicitor.
Homeowner: This is Chief Inspector Flanagan from Homicide. You've called in the middle of a crime scene investigation. The homeowner was found dead a short while ago. But while you're on the phone, let me ask you some questions about your relationship with the deceased.
In no time at all, the solicitor will have hung up.
Most of the time they think they have a mark on the line and will honestly answer "yes".
Then I respond with "Really? Because you sound exactly like a Paki to me."
You would not BELIEVE what I have heard after that......
The real question is how much of your own time are you willing to spend. If you get a kick out of it, go ahead.
But if you don’t want to waste any of your time, you can just politely say “no, thank you” and hang up.
Eventually they may take you off their phone solicitation lists.

Everyone knows that you think no small beans about yourself and that you think you are better than everyone and more spiritual than them.
You’re constantly lecturing people about how they should be doing their spiritual life or just life in general.
And most of the time, your convoluted posts don’t even make sense. They’re not even close to being grammatically anything, much less grammatically correct.
You’re wishing scammers well in their efforts to rob people of everything they have is reprehensible. It actually makes you complicit in their scheme.
The response you’re fixing to get will be epic!

My daughter took a job selling over the phone because she was desperate to pay her rent. She'd been laid off, and was looking hard for a regular job during the day.
She had to finally quit because she couldn't take how aggressive people were. She didn't deserve to be cussed at in the most profane way. All the person had to do was to say "no thank you."
I hate phone solicitors too, especially companies that spoof their number to appear local. The company is the one that you have the beef with.
I get those all the time and learned very quickly to ignore them.
I got one that said it was the local fire department. I tried calling back our of curiosity and did not get the fire dept. I think it was disconnected number or something.
I had someone call me and tell me they got several calls from my number. I had to explain that it was a scammer spoofing numbers and it happened to be mine. This is really getting out of control.
I use that when I get call for polls - My first response is
"How much do I get?"
When they say "nothing" I remind them that THEY are getting paid, their bosses are getting paid, their company is getting paid, but they expect Me to answer and do all the work for NOTHING. Then hang up and block their number.

This woman is a scammer from way back....
She comes up north for the summers and winters in San Antonio - she gets gas money from churches along the way by saying her son died and she needs to go home for his funeral... he died 15 years ago.
One scam after another.
She was all tatooed up, got money from the government (US!) to get them removed, a couple of years later I ran into her and she had fresh tat’s again!
She did several years in prison for attempted murder of her ex-husband, still scamming through life!
I knew her years ago - before she got so bad - now she has learned to stay way from me because it gets ugly quickly. Spit!
mostly robo calls....not many live people anymore.
If I don’t recognize the number, I don’t pick up.
We have asked MANY times to have our number removed. I won’t curse at them but my cousin and I use those calls as auditions...and sing to them! No, we cannot sing well, so they either hang up or laugh. We do not have call blocking so this seems the best way!
