Adviser to Khamenei says aid collectors for Palestinians sought to deploy reptiles whose skin 'attracted atomic waves'

The former chief-of-staff of Iran’s armed forces said Tuesday that Western spies had used lizards to “attract atomic waves” and spy on his country’s nuclear program.
It was the latest in a long line of incidents of Western countries, including Israel, being accused of deploying secret agents from the animal kingdom.
Hassan Firuzabadi, senior military adviser to supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was responding to questions from local media on the recent arrest of environmentalists.
He said he did not know the details of the cases, but that the West had often used tourists, scientists and environmentalists to spy on Iran.
“Several years ago, some individuals came to Iran to collect aid for Palestine… We were suspicious of the route they chose,” he told the reformist ILNA news agency.
“In their possessions were a variety of reptile desert species like lizards, chameleons… We found out that their skin attracts atomic waves and that they were nuclear spies who wanted to find out where inside the Islamic Republic of Iran we have uranium mines and where we are engaged in atomic activities,” he said.
Firuzabadi said Western spy agencies had “failed every time.”
His comments came after news that a leading Iranian-Canadian environmentalist, Kavous Seyed Emami, had committed suicide in prison after he was arrested along with other members of his wildlife NGO last month.
Several spying allegations involving various creatures have been leveled against Israel over the past years.
In January 2016, Lebanese residents captured a griffon vulture wearing an Israeli tracking device, but released it upon realizing that the transmitter strapped to the bird was intended for scientific research rather than espionage.
Several months earlier, Hamas claimed to have caught a dolphin wearing Israeli spying equipment.
Twice in recent years, Turkish media has highlighted allegations that birds tagged with Israeli university tracking devices were on espionage missions.
In 2012, an eagle with an Israeli tag in Sudan was captured and alleged to be as a Mossad spy.
Two years earlier, an Egyptian official said Israel-controlled sharks may have been involved in a number of attacks on tourists in the Red Sea.

Good morning, again, snow and rain folks. It looks as though we’ll have another thunderstorm here before long. Meanwhile, Tom the Son is nearly as loud.
As I went to the sink to wash the dishes, I realized I was almost out of Ivory Liquid, so I made a quick trip to Walmart, then came home to pack another box. One of the reasons I’m out of Ivory is that I packed the extra when I was working on the kitchen stuff! I think I can pack one more box, but my back was hurting way too much for me to do it just now.
I need to pack my cuckoo clock, but I don’t know which box to put it in, as it’s always ridden in the front seat with me when I’ve moved, so I don’t know how to handle this. There will be a lot of stuff in the BB SUV when it is towed, so I don’t know the best way to pack this, if I pack it.
I’m also stymied about the Galileo and the other glass parts of the “weather station.” I’m thinking it will have to be in a tub.
I have the box my Galileo came in. Maybe you can get some newspaper and shred it. (I have a cat for this purpose.)
It seems to be sleeting here now.
I thought I still had the box for the Galileo, but if I do, it’s somewhere out of sight. I wonder if a mailing tube would work?..
I’ll check on the UPS site and see or maybe the USPS site. I’d feel safer if it were in a box, because the liquid in the Galileo is kerosene. It could cause a lot of damage if the glass broke.
Office Depot is the only place that I’ve found that has the right size but I don’t have enough left to get it, with the tax. I’ll wait until payday, then, I guess. *sheesh* They don’t make things easy for the consumer. I have to “open an account” before I can pick it up in the store.
And, truth be known, I CAN’T pick it up. I have to pay $10 to have a $8 tube delivered.
NOT!
I’ll find another way.

Update on the weather situation: someone stole the snow.
Radar display has been showing the blue that supposedly indicates snow over our location since sometime last evening. NOAA is still maintaining its Winter Storm Warning and is saying we are to expect ‘an additional 3 - 6 inches’ by 0600 tomorrow.
The problem with all that is that so far we have not seen a single flake. The upside is that I don’t need to shovel or snow-blow the accumulation we have so far..
One thing we did get (and still have) are the predicted winds so it was a good choice not to take the trash out.
I understand from a friend across the border south of me that they are getting hit in New Jersey..
Waiting....
Probably waiting for the cover of darkness to sneak in..
I’m not curious enough to take a drive south into Jersey to see where the ‘snow line’ is..
And for what its worth, I’m taking my silly self to bed. See all y’all in the morning. I think.
