The pols and pundits most insistent upon holding a gun-control conversation in the wake of mass shootings at schools did the most to turn them into nihilistic wastelands. From the puffed-chest phonies on CNN and MSNBC, we hear a lot about sinister lobbies that intimidate passive, cowardly pols. The insufferable Chris Cuomo, whose partisan arrogance is impossible to overstate, rips into this or that Republican for not standing up to the NRA. When has Cuomo ever stood up to the morally bankrupt teachers unions that turned Americas public schools into assembly lines of pathology?

Eliminating the “Gun Free Zone” designation and training and arming teachers/administrators would eliminate this problem.
Of course, no one wants to have a conversation about that.
“Was he expecting Trump to call for the confiscation of all guns?”
If Trump did do this the Left would become the most ardent supporters of the 2nd Amendment!
Perfect summation.
Heres my contribution to the conversation:
You cant have my guns. I wont give them up. Youll have to take them forcibly. Your move, Skippy.

I remember something called “mainstreaming” when I was too young to care. I wonder where it fits in to this “conversation”.
When a liberal asks for a “conversation”, what he is really saying is this: “I want to preach, and you must listen.”
I was on the Rifle Team at my High School in the 1970’s. On days that we had matches we would bring our rifles into school with us and leave them in our lockers. No one ever got shot.
Democrats don’t want a conversation unless it’s them telling us to give up our right of self-defense. They prefer a fantasy solution that is perfect in every way: just outlaw guns and no one will use them, sort of like how outlawing heroin means there are no heroin addicts.
Planned Murderhood kills more of our children in a month than all the school shooters put together.
Where are any of the libtards standing up to them?
“Mainstreaming” was cloaked in innocuousness, but was an insidious invasion.
Conversation? Liberals don’t want a conversation, they want a monologue.
In which we have to do things their way. End of discussion.
They make no allowance for the fact the other side has a legitimate point of view.
Tolerance isn’t a word in their vocabulary - unless you end up agreeing with their view of what society should be.
That’s exactly right.
The government can’t stop drugs/illegal immigration, yet liberals expect it will magically end gun violence in the country.
Tell that to the FBI which missed all the signs Nikolas Cruz was bent on mass murder.
What makes liberals think it can get guns off America’s streets? Seriously.
> Liberals dont want a conversation, they want a monologue. <
It’s interesting how the meaning of the word “liberal” has changed over time. It once meant “open to new ideas”. Now it’s fast becoming a synonym for “intolerant”.
We can all rest assured the next time the left is in power the “conversation” will come to blows on a large and organized scale.
Square in the middle.
As I understand it that is more or less the core of Israeli system and it works.
But our politicians don't have the incentive or the guts to take that kind of sensible action here.
Democrats don't really want to solve the problem as it would drastically reduce the effect of their campaign attacks and fund raising against guns, the gun industry lobbies and the NRA.
Most republicans are afraid to eliminate the "gun free zone" concept and introduce armed security in the schools as they would be unmercifully hounded and attacked by the leftist media.
They would be portrayed as irresponsible, uncaring gun-slinging tools of the NRA who endanger children by allowing guns into schools.
So, as bad as it is now, both sides see action and a real solution as bad for them.
“...Your move, Skippy.”
And bring lunch. You’re going to have a long day.
Youre going to have a long day.
Maybe, maybe not.

Yes... And I’ve seen it before, this attitude. “Conversation” is “obeyed lecture.” Might as well talk to them as they have talked to us.
