Heres seven simple steps that can and should be implemented overnight across the country and in similar fashion school shootings would be eliminated. This list is not exhaustive but is a starting point where good-willed people can come together to make a significant difference now.

I think arming teachers is a joke. I bet 70% of them are anti 2nd amendment anyway, and would be loath to even use guns.
My list fwiw:
Reopen the 800,000 psych beds closed in late 1970s.
Put the dangerously agitated under observation, treatment. Isolate.
Remove the mentally unhealthy from the healthy school population.
Allow school staff to carry in schools.
Add metal detectors and guards at schools.
If found guilty, hang these perps publicly with only a diaper on, and put their parents in prison a while, too.
If law enforcement failed to act on warnings, criminally prosecute the bosses.
No gun law changes are necessary.
Personally, one thing missing: Schools should be on ‘lock-down’....everyone coming in must be checked and scanned.
Agree. Teachers should teach.
Social media watch and say something DO SOMETHING would knock the majority of this crap down.
Followed by at least one armed school security guard and secure doors - buzzed in after morning bell and before last bell.
Not that hard really.
And really this should be done before radical Islam gets on a roll.
Read the history of the "Texas Tower" incident at Texas A&M. The shooter was a former Marine, but bullets coming from armed civilians forced him to keep his head down and much slowed his fire rate (this was long before all the CCW, citizen gun ban).
An amateur teen shooter would likely be forced to stop shooting altogether.
Punish the shooter - expedited trial and death penalty
Throw bad kids out of school.
I dont want to be the one to find out :)
keep an M4 locked in every classroom :)
dont want to bring a .22 to an m16 fight!
thanks for the story.
In my DARK days as a yoot, I used to rip off vending machines in NJ.
I had a bunch of keys and not many open most machines.
and YES, if i knew one of the attendants had a gun, and if i DIDNT know NJ’s gun laws, I would have gone elsewhere.
Feel bad for what i did and asked forgiveness and repented as well as I could.
But YES, a guy with a gun is not the one to rob
But chances are in your favor you could be “that good”...Learning to shoot well is more a factor of effort and desire than any innate talents...
Lots of high quality training available out there and not very expensive (especially taken in context with other forms of “insurance”)...
Even some high profile training schools offering free instruction to teachers and school administrators if they would just avail themselves of it...
Fear of failure and embarrassment on the range, and just plain ol’ laziness often intervene preventing too many good people from training...Don’t be afraid to admit you don’t know...There’s an easy (and fun) fix for that...
Dive in...Best wishes and good luck...

For example...Methinks more to rapidly follow...As usual, the answer is to fight back, not lie down and take it...
I do better with the M4. My wife does better with the glock.
