Did the Progressive 'Broward County Solution' Cost 17 Student Lives?
American Thinker ^ | 2-20-18 | Jack Cashill

"We're not compromising school safety. We're really saving the lives of kids," boasted Michaelle Valbrun-Pope, executive director of Student Support Initiatives for Broward County Public Schools, in August 2017.

Valbrun-Pope was referring to what an article by Jeffrey Benzing in Public Source calls the "Broward County Solution." As Benzing relates, Broward County used to lead the state of Florida in sending students to the state's juvenile justice system. County leaders responded with a perfectly progressive solution: "lower arrests by not making arrests."

I wonder if the FBI’s failure in this case was in any way connected to Broward’s “Diversionary Discipline” policy. As in someone saying, “oh, that’s a student/school issue — not my yob” when they received the tip about Cruz. (Not claiming this happened - just speculating).

Thy could very easily be the explanation of the FBI’s lackluster performance on this. Why do anything if you know Broward County doesn’t want to do anything because its “no fault for special minorities” excuse program. From a paperwork standpoint which is all a Bureau guy/gal would see at that point would be another guy with a Hispanic name. The Bureauite would know Broward didn’t want it counted so his/her motivation to act would not be there.

Have some testicles and take away the “?”. It isn’t a question...it is a statement.

So the “GUN FREE ZONE!” sign Broward county posted on the school did not work! When Liberal/progressive/communist ideas do not work, don’t give up on them, they just have to get BIGGER!

The solution is not to provide protection to the children in the school. The solution is to EXPAND THE GUN FREE ZONE to include the ENTIRE COUNTRY!

Of course, this is not really about the children, this is just about the elimination of guns so that the only people with guns are the Police and the Army. This will not happen peacefully if at all.

(Sorry for yelling. I just need to vent.)

It wasn't just a pledge, it was an entire Collaborative Agreement (Sheriff AND NAACP signed)

Seems like the Progress jackass facilitated the massacre.

For some unexplained reason I had a feeling there was something wrong here. Boy was I right ! When this story broke I began posting this every time a posting would appear here in FR’s

The talk shows and the media are busy blaming guns and politicking the incident shifting the blame when they should be furthering the need for student security.

Particularly since there have been examples occurring of such episodes worldwide the sources of which the media refuses to identify (MUZZIES) let alone acknowledge. Because it doesn’t fit their political NRA anti gun agenda .

One who comes to mind is John Howell of am890 WLS Chicago. Which prompted the inspiration for the following observations who got it so wrong left me screaming at my radio . John Williams of WGN am 720 used the killing of a popular police commander which occurred at the same time to launch an attack on the NRA

In the Parkside case, their security system should be brought to public scrutiny . Particularly of the policies employed. For starters this school has a so called “gun free zone”. It does have a parking lot officer who may be armed assigned to patrol the multi acre site in a golf cart , but bans guns from the rest of its internal security .

Because of these Ding Bat liberal policies it brings up another question. Just how safe and secure are those kids ? There’s a lot of krap that happens; Assaults, fights, thefts, books and items stolen, teachers accosted, kids intimidated..Drug use..

Examine records reporting how student vs student, and student vs teacher altercations, vandalism, and thefts, which are bound to occur were being dealt with.

Because in an educational unit this size it’s pretty clear their security system failed . In a secure system Cruz would have never gotten inside.

Big problem is the astounding bigotry so many lefties feel toward the police and guns - like a child afraid of spiders, they hysterically react negatively to the very idea of having police and other qualified shooters anywhere near schools where they might help prevent or abort attacks such as at Parkland - as though in a setting as benign as a school a policeman might just start shooting randomly for no reason or a gun might hop out of a closet and begin firing wildly on its own - it must be sad to go through life as fearful and irrational as some of these people must be.....

“”it must be sad to go through life as fearful and irrational as some of these people must be””

Not as sad as it makes us to think there are actually people among us who refuse to open their eyes and their minds. Think how miserable they make the rest of us...

I have no idea where their fear comes from but I’ll bet it’s not 100% authentic as we’re seeing in the no doubt organized protests about guns and gun control - now and in every other incident. I guess those responsible for organizing this whole protest nationwide are getting their money’s worth because it seems to be working as they are reaching the most gullible/pliable!
