Boy, that would sure wake you up! LOL! I have church bells on my phone for my alarm and it never fails to make my heart skip a beat. it’s the only one that is loud enough to keep me awake afterward. :)

Watching these nests has given me many sad days and nights. Just last night a tiny baby eagle fell from the nest to its death. Everyone who chatted daily on the cam site were just heartbroken over it, including myself and radu. Poor little thing.

Nature is very cruel!

Indeed, it does look like a different eagle. Some of the group people seemed to think it was the same one with a different mate, but since this is the first time I’ve watched, I didn’t have any reference till now.

I got nearly that same picture in the snow this morning. LOL! Poor thing just looked so miserable....but she was trying her best to be a good mom. Maybe next year.

Guess I’d better go. I watched a show that was longer than I expected and was surprised at the time. See ya tomorrow night! :)

The Berry eagles have been lucky so far and that made it hit harder to see them lose an eaglet. They’re excellent parents. We’re going to have another Peaglet on that nest this year with them keeping the pantry so well-stocked. LOL! That young ‘un is already looking mighty tubby.

The nostrils are the biggest key. This new eagle has much larger ones than the original female. The beaks are different in shape and texture too.

The male is young. His tail feathers are still “dirty” rather than solid white. Maybe next year he’ll do better but he simply isn’t ready to be a dad this year. I have yet to see him on the eggs.

The female has been a trooper, bless her eagle heart. But even before the intruder showed up she was leaving the first egg for long periods, probably to hunt since the male wasn’t helping out with food or brooding.
