The so-called fact checkers at the far-left Washington Post are liars. Straight-up liars. Because here is what Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama actually said in favor of gun confiscation:
Barack Obama, June 2014:
Couple of decades ago, Australia had a mass shooting, similar to Columbine or Newtown. And Australia just said, well, thats it, were not doing, were not seeing that again, and basically imposed very severe, tough gun laws, and they havent had a mass shooting since. Our levels of gun violence are off the charts. Theres no advanced, developed country that would put up with this.
Barack Obama, June 2015:
When Australia had a mass killing I think it was in Tasmania about 25 years ago, it was just so shocking the entire country said well were going to completely change our gun laws, and they did. And it hasnt happened since.
Barack Obama, October 2015:

"doctors and costs have exploded."
Wrong.
My God man, please just stop....
You’ve never seen asymmetric warfare.
If you had, you wouldn’t be embarrassing yourself here.
I will go to the grave over my god given rights. I suspect we are closer to citizen militias openly opposing the government than we are of confiscation. Maybe Im delusional and it will be just be 3 of us ( me myself and I) armed and fighting but I dont think so.
The way civility is breaking down who knows.
The flow of invaders and drugs is being done on purpose, with malice of forethought... The commies are using those means to bring us down.... It's working.
Sorry, I just DO NOT TRUST Hillary and the Democrats to protect our Second Amendment rights...which is what all the ‘no need to worry’ bunch is telling me to do.
They WILL take our guns in 5 minutes, once they feel it’s safe. You may want to listen in on some of their planning sessions if you don’t believe that.
Read my post again. I did not over-estimate. I said the gubmint doesn’t have to physically confiscate your guns, but rather electronically freeze your assets until you bring them to them voluntarily.
I actually heard a gun-grabber on TV explain in an interview how the gubmint could take our guns without having to send in armed men. Just ruin us until we comply.
If you have a life in the country like you and I do, we don’t have to worry about having no money to eat, but rather grow our own food.
I agree with you. The plan is to disarm us before killing us...
I do however, disagree that it will be easy, or that force superiority guarantees the outcome.

It’s already happening with marijuana. Marijuana is federally illegal, but has that stopped the states from legalizing it anyway?
There’s a difference between enforcing a policy on a state government vs. enforcing it on millions of citizens. The example you cite is the Feds enforcing a policy on the Arizona state government. Marijuana (and gun) prohibition is the Feds trying to enforce a policy on millions of individuals, without state help. By the way - West Virginia recently became a Second Amendment sanctuary state.
And another thing, there are about as many guns in the US as there are people. If the Feds don’t have the manpower and resources to enforce marijuana laws, they sure don’t have the manpower or resources to enforce a gun ban. There’s a reason Washington depends on the state governments to help enforce all of its laws - because Washington has become so big and bloated that it needs help enforcing its own laws.
“I do however, disagree that it will be easy, or that force superiority guarantees the outcome.”
I’d think you’d agree that Leftists are NOT dumb. For example, it takes PURE GENIUS to be able to convince half of the this country that there is nothing wrong with PERVERTS (i.e., men who claim to identify as women) to be in girls’ locker rooms - but they have done just that.
So, as far as taking on gun owners - it will be a relatively slow process - a bit more difficult here, a bit of a hassle there. But slowly and surely, more and more gun owners will decide that’s it’s simply not worth the trouble (such as unannounced ‘visits’ from pigs to make sure you have your firearms secured). And so the number of gun owners decrease and decrease...until we’re left with several thousand ‘cold, dead, fingers’...and the government will deal with them quite quickly, and probably, very quietly.
People on our side think that there will be some type of Paul Revere SHOUTING FROM THE HILLS that they’re coming for our guns. It won’t happen that way, until the very end - the Left is not that dumb. They will ‘peacefully’ take the guns that they can peacefully, and continue that for many years, probably decades...until we’re too weak to ‘resist’, and then they’ll get the rest.
"...little by little, until gunowners lose their political power..."
Thanks! Appreciate your posting (and defense of me).
Sadly many thousands, perhaps millions, of Americans figure that once a certain threshold is crossed (i.e., triggering episode) that serious Second Amendment supporters will put on their camo’s, arm up, and head into battle.
The problem, though, is what is that ‘triggering episode’? Is it a limit on magazine capacity, or a law that makes it tougher to justify self-defense, or a 100% tax on ammo? Or is it a proclamation by President Hillary that anything more than a BB gun must be turned in?
Unfortunately, Hillary’s proclamation will not take place UNTIL gun owners have no means to effectively resist. She, and the Dems, are NOT DUMB, they will NOT call-in the guns out of the blue - they will turn the screws, until the point that resisters are obvious and small in number, and thus have no chance of fighting back effectively.
So it all comes down to LEGISLATION and JUDICIAL REVIEW. If those two don’t go our way, the Second Amendment is simple GONE...it will not help a bit.
"...triggering episode..."
