Regardless, the whole crux of their argument is that banning so-called assault weapons, expanded background checks, waiting period etc. will save lives. It won’t do that, and the anti-gun Left knows it. So, thanks to Vox for actually showing the end game of the Democratic agenda on firearms, which is that they really just want to ban guns. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have cited the Australian model on gun control. Clinton even went so far as to say the Supreme Court got the Second Amendment wrong in 2016. The level of violence in Europe, which is often cited by liberals to make the false argument that America is a shooting gallery, would require gun confiscation. Also, the Second Amendment’s language in the Constitution might not prevent such an extreme piece of legislation from passing; it’s the fact that there are not enough votes—and there probably never will be. Hey, at least there are gold stars for honesty (via Vox):

I’m not casting aspersions. I wasn’t gonna hike to columbus circle to protest the Columbus statue if they took it down.

We Staten Islanders decided to buy it if they tried to take it down and put it in the Italian American museum here.

They didn’t take it down.

But the vile thrown at the south was much higher with a lot more people sticking their noses in.

I know southerners say the northern influx has messed up the vote but even if a state goes 58 to 42 dem, shouldn’t the migration reflect those numbers and shouldn’t it only be a tiny part of the population?

Or are more dems moving than republicans, and if so, for what reason? Just thinking out loud. :)

BTW, if you actually want lower levels of gun violence, trying to confiscate items that are both the personal property of people AND, simultaneously, their means of self-defense and defense of liberty (from an overbearing government) is not the way. The spasm of violence that would occur near the beginning (and end, by the way) of such an event would eclipse anything ever seen in the entire history of civilization. Literally millions could die within a few weeks.

However, the truth is that the Leftists don’t want a reduction of gun-related violence, they want control over this society. They just want to be the ones deciding who gets to be the victim of such violence. They are in for a BIG surprise if they think that they can pull that one off for free.

They can only point to gun crime - not to “violence”. In the USA most violence, including gun violence, is very localized to specific hot spots. If you don’t go “there” life in the USA is very non-violent. You’re more likely to be a victim of violence in Europe.

I grew up in the UK (70’s, 80’s) - it was a different time (hooligans) but England has always been violent, the “who” just morphs.

A “cultural marker” is sporting events. Go to a soccer game, anywhere in Europe, wearing the away teams colors. You will not be allowed to be in home team seating sections, you’ll be segregated. Otherwise, you would get the living crap beat out of you. In the USA I can do this at ANY sporting event and cheer when my team scores. Sure, you may get a heckler or something but it’s nothing like over there.
