Dear Dianne, I was at the range today and fired many shots quickly with a .22 pistol, then did the same with a .380 pistol, then did the same with a .40 calibre pistol. Doesn’t take long at all to empty a clip and these aren’t what you’d call an assault weapon but ever as much dangerous as an AR-15.

the one thing we can learn, I think, from Californication’s political, voting history is...
they WILL sometimes vote for a R candidate at least for governator (Reagan, Schwarzenegger altho he seems quite leftist, and Wilson and Deukmejian.. two losers, in my humble opinion, but all of the above did list as Rs on the ballots)...
one thing that can help a lot is a very attractive candidate (speaking ability, wit, beauty or handsome as appropriate)......and s.he should already have lots of favorable name and face recognition, too.
someone who is already well in public view, and who has a favorable personna, image
of all the possible D candidates that have been discussed, the one that stands out on this criterion is Oprah...she, believe it or not, has a tremendous audience and most of her viewers seem to like her, too
and of the R’s above, well... Trump had it, Schwarzenneger had it, Reagan had it (the others didnt)
Are there any possible R candidates (that would be any good, of course!)....with favorable public image and personna already on board?
Oh yeah, the candidate has to be able to finance his.her own campaign... or at least a big part of it, as the California GOP-e establishment is Less than Useless

No it wasn’t. A bowdlerized version was still being sold all during those times. No flash hider, no bayonet lug. (How many people were bayoneted before this?), no folding or collapsing stock, add a 10 round magazine.
Older 30 round magazines were still for sale everywhere you looked, along with new “For Police Use Only” stamped magazines.
I believe Dan White was a strong supporter of a ban on handguns in California. For everyone else, but him.

After Sandy Hook happened, I found myself thankful that Romney wasn't President-elect. He'd have asked for an assault weapons ban just like the one he signed in to law as governor and he'd have found enough Republicans and more than enough Democrats to give him one. At least with Obama, the Republicans would hold fast.
I'm not confident that President Trump or today's Congressional GOP will stand up against an assault weapons ban, which will probably include far more weapons than the '94 one did.
Unfortunately, the anti-2A crowd seems to have taken control of the messaging at the moment.
