While I generally think that women in the infantry is a bad idea, I guess I'd be okay with it if women had to meet the same exact requirements as a man. During my time in the Army, I met a few that could probably do it, and one of them was even super hot!
If you could even find a woman who could do it, you’d see issues in the units in which they served - and it would be even worse if there were TWO of them. I see the same thing in just a civilian office environment.
While Israel has always prided itself on its female troops, in real wars there were unquestionably horrible effects on male soldiers who saw female troops killed. When we had two non-combat role women captured (Jessica Lynch, Shoshana Johnson), look at the stink raised - and there was no shortage of rumors of sexual assault of Lynch in captivity.
The wars of the twentieth century will look comparatively civil compared to where we are now; all norms of “civilized” behavior are out the window as we deal with uncivilized Third World opponents.
Women are given “gender-normed” (easier) passage through naval aviation. It has not been a success (Hultgren, Dolenz).
Oh yeah.
At my unit in Germany we had a mechanic who was a female, and she could out do her male counterparts.... And made coveralls look good too.
