Former deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe is planning to sue the Trump administration for defamation and wrongful termination, according to multiple media reports on Friday.
McCabe's lawyer Michael Bromwich told reporters that McCabe is also considering filing other civil claims. He said the legal team hasn't yet figured out when they're going to file the lawsuits and is working on making them "solid."
"We'll file when we're ready," Bromwich said, according to Axios.

He wasn't a presidential appointee so he couldn't be fired at will. But he could be fired for cause, which is what the Attorney General did. So I'm not sure where the unlawful termination would come in.

You asked if McCabe prepared it. By your own post it’s clear that being in the FBI he would not have.
I find the document trail here also interesting. McCabe’s attorneys will ask for documents because if they don’t, they have those documents which points to another crime McCabe committed in regard to taking documents. Well then the DOJ can slowly read each document and black out classified information. Why that might take years to do.
For many years Jeff Sessions was the only guy standing up for Americans and having spent many years in the swamp, he knows where all the alligators are.
Plus, you have an investigation that has dragged on and yet has zip to show for it. I don’t think that just happens.

You must have missed Sessions’ quote praising Rosenstein. Sessions praised RR precisely because he had spent 27 years in the swamp. This is why Rosenstein lied so audaciously in renewing the illegal anti-Trump FISA warrant: lying is SOP for the swamp.
First he needs to sue the OPR, which recommended his firing. If he wins that one, he may have a prayer of winning against the Administration. But since the IG has made a criminal referral already, it looks really slim. McCabe is really looking like an ego-tistical dunce.
Maybe McCabe imagines that if he screams and rages over being fired, he won’t be indicted?
Who knows—on Sessions it might actually work. Not that Sessions needs an excuse; he let Clapper off the hook gratis.
It will be interesting to see what is revealed during this battle. The leakers will be leaking. The public will discover new corrupt things.

I absolutely agree with you. A huge problem in DC is that the swampers have given themselves so many perks and benefits that they believe they’re royalty. This is my personal theory as to one of the things that went wrong with Sessions. For way too many years he was treated, as a Senator, with the deference typically conferred on a privileged aristocrat. Then he recused himself, and the scuttle is that Trump called him an idiot to his face.
Uh oh. Sessions got his tender sensibilities wounded, and has been down on Trump ever since.
