Developing: California Pushes Bill That Appears To Ban Sale of Bibles
The Western Journal ^ | April 19, 2018 at 6:06pm | Randy DeSoto

A new California pro-LGBTQ bill that would ban the sale or distribution of materials related to “conversion therapy” easily passed the state’s assembly on Thursday.

CBS News affiliate KOVR reported the final tally was 50-14. Assembly Bill 2943 now heads to the Democrat-controlled Senate.

The bill would make it an unlawful business practice to engage in any “transaction intended to result or that results in the sale or lease of goods or services to any consumer” aimed at “sexual orientation change efforts with an individual.”

Goods would include any books or written materials, while services would encompass counseling individuals seeking to address same-sex attractions.

According to the Los Angeles Times, “One key part of the debate centers on whether Assembly Bill 2943 would stretch beyond businesses that charge for (conversion) programs and extend to printed documents, even Bibles.”

Probably millions set aside to subsidize printing and distribution to the masses of CA.

Seriously?

Is it Un-American to defend our Constitution?

Is it Un-American to reject the efforts of Marxists/communists to defend the FIRST Amendment?

I know, let’s give the rights granted under our Constitution to those that would, when in power, remove those rights.

Best of luck to you and the compromises that have put us in this position.

Where do you Stand?

On the Rock, or in the Sand?

“Yes and Un-American. And on it’s face totally incompatible with the U.S. Constitution.”

1st, I have Muslim friends. None of them are Islamists.

The Quran specifies Sharia Law. (one interpretation)

The U.S. Constitution is the highest law in the US. Not the Quran or Sharia Law.

The U.S. constitution does not allow the “Establishment” of a State Religion.

But it does not protect those who would overthrow the U.S. Government in the name of their religion.

The Quran if taken literally prescribes overthrow of all other laws. Hence it is incompatible with the U.S. Constitution.

PERIOD.

That is the sad result.
They leave and it just gets worse.
Will anyone organize and fight?
How do they fight? What does fighting back look like?
Will it have to involve flying lead?
Unfortunately,I think it will degrade until it eventually does.

You are correct. Book Burning is and action the Nazi’s actually undertook.

My mistake.

I questioned the spelling, did search and it gave me the wrong one.

Should have been:

“Sodom and Gomorrah”

Well, most of us here know the intent of the Left.

So, we prepare and remain peaceful until such time as it becomes necessary to do otherwise.

Freedom is never negotiated. It is always won in battle and is difficult to keep.

Good for you.

There are no “other” interpretations of the Koran allowed by its very nature.

At the end of the day, the question is one of where their loyalty lies.

Sharia?

Their foundations require nothing less, unless they need to lie in order to advance their objective.

There is NO compromise.

Unless, it’s you that compromises.

I do have Muslim friends. They do not subscribe to the Islamist views.

Some in Egypt and others in Syria. Neither are a threat to other religions. They understand what political Islam is.

The interesting part, the religious makeup in Syria is surprising and it is changing. Some in the past said they were Muslim but did not practice it. Now a portion of them are admitting the reality.

Many more Christians than most expect. A number of sects of them. It is also true in Iraq. In Iraq the Muslims are less “understanding” and tolerant of Christians, Ezidi’s and atheists.

There are very few Jews in Iraq or Syria. Some, but few.

You did a good job.

I questioned the spelling when I searched, but it did return that as a phrase.

I have pretty much ceased to use the phrase "clearly unconstitutional" because it means nothing to the authoritarians pushing this sort of nonsense, and unfortunately that includes major portions of the justice system up to and including the Supreme Court. And bills of this sort certainly won't stop here. The self-declared and entirely fraudulent "scientific consensus" on climate change would permit a similar repression of dissent on the topic. Academic pretensions with respect to immigration, White Privilege, even socialism, the same. Caught with a copy of American Rifleman? To the flames with it and to the gulag with you.

It is a longstanding policy of the Left to push until it meets resistance, declare that the new boundary, and push on from there. They're not going to stop until they're stopped.

It’s funny. The people pushing this like Toni Atkins are demonstrably mentally ill.

But of course she denies it.

Which is what’s funny - the first thing you learn in a psychology course is that the crazy people all say “I’m not crazy - the rest of you are!”

The assertion in the preamble of the bill is just that - the hysterical cry of the loon trying to convince the other 99% of us that they aren’t abnormal.

But of course they are.

It’s a bill written by mentally ill people.

Your Muslim friends are like the casual Christians that want to excuse their acts with a belief they will saved.

People have an amazing capacity to rationalize their behavior.

Arabs, in general, are not to be trusted.

It’s a cultural thing.

They lie as a matter of fact. It’s expected. It’s their culture.

I’ve been screwed over for tens of thousands of dollars by Muslims.

And they don’t think twice about it.

“Speaking of gayness... I’m not sure where ...”

I’m curious because it hasn’t been resolved by our scientists whether gayness is in the DNA or is acquired.

It occurs to me that left-handedness might also be a characteristic whose origin in a person is unknown.

Maybe there are many characteristics of people whose origin is unknown. I’ve given this a limited amount of thought.
