John McCain made himself small in Washington. He owns that.
I disagree. Certain people -- most, in fact -- let themselves BECOME small when they burrow into Washington. Sometimes even the best of them can't resist the corruption of their souls.

I loathe McCain so much that I voted for the democrat in his last two elections to the Senate. But he suffered incredibly in Hanoi.
Truth is, if Hanoi wanted McCain to talk, they should not have tortured him. They should have flattered him. If they had told him how wonderful he was, he would have believed them and done anything for them.
Where I differ from the article is that I don’t believe McCain’s resistance in Hanoi was based on love of America or honor. It was based on hatred for his enemies. Once home, he almost immediately demonstrated a total lack of character. He was a corrupt SOB before he ever joined the Senate.
Recognizing his value once as a politician is not to ignore his personal shortcomings. He was a jerk when he was a good politician and he was a jerk when he wasn't a good politician. Earlier, McCain had one redeeming trait and now he has none.
It’s pretty bad and sad when you have to invite and “unvite” people to your funeral and you aren’t even going to be in attendance. His need to pontificate in his final days are beyond the pale. I hope he as well as those who are assisting him come to their senses. A closer look needs to be given those who ardently sing his praises.
The thing that gets me is this man is facing his death. Instead of focusing on God, Jesus or his loved ones, he is going to spend his last breath spitting venom at Trump.

McCain lost his greatness status, if he ever had it, when he divorced his first wife. Then he got into politics, was involved in the Keating 5 scandal, then things got even worse from there. McCain has always been a petty little man.
McCain has never been a great man and never will be. Greatness is just not in him.

McCain may have come from a great family, but he was never a great man.
He finished near the bottom of his class at the Academy, destroyed 5 US planes and got himself shot down.
Then as Senator he has tried mightily to give away the country to fraudulently documented foreigners.
But, but, butt.....
John McCain IS a Cold War ace! He got shot down in, burned up, ejected from, crashed, or destroyed FIVE enemy (er, US Navy) planes . All by himself!
McCain was made great by the media....
