A series of debacles has Comcast scrambling to replace NBC News and MSNBC chairman Andy Lack by year’s end, reports Fox News. Ironically, NBC News brought back the 70-year-old Lack in 2015 (he had run the place from 1993 to 2001) to clean up the news division’s reputation after its figurehead, then-NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, was revealed to be a serial liar. Williams was eventually suspended for six months and demoted to a primetime slot at MSNBC.
Unfortunately for Lack and NBC News, things have only gotten worse. Much worse. While CNN still holds the crown as America’s fake news-laughingstock, NBC is in the running, as it has devolved into a haven for proven liars, accused-sex abusers and enablers, rape-deniers, homophobes, victim-shamers, fake news-bombshells, and a glaringly obvious whitewash presented as an internal investigation.

the MSM is so consumed with hate they will go down in flames before they change their tune. They are getting their clocks cleaned and continue to push the hate mantra. No wonder democrat cities are failing. We continue to have examples of their thinking daily.
The News business isn’t much of a business. They push a political ideology through propaganda. That is the number one priority. A lesser priority is actually making money. But now they are realizing that perhaps making money is important. But they don’t know how.
There are people in this world who are doers. Then there are people who sit around on TV pretending to be know-it-alls while gossiping and speculating about what the doers do. That's all "news" is these days.
Speaking of programming...
That's all the networks do to the masses that watch them.
The first thing the new guy should do is cancel Morning Joe. Joe and his Girl Friend Mika have become a boring laughing stock.
The cause is much more important then profit. There is no chance Lack will be replaced by anyone but a fellow traveler. If one of the big 3 went to the right or just neutral for that matter they would absolutely dominate but it will never happen.
If terminated Morning Joe....you’d have to ‘cook’ up a brand new replacement, with a Joe-like character and a Mika-like character. In a year, it’d become the same show all over again.
To be honest, once you get past DC and NY City....I doubt if you have more than 3-percent of society that watches some brief part of the show.
As the article suggests, tribalism is killing NBC News. For that matter, it’s killing the MSM.
So which news outfit will hire the Trump-esque person to run things? Don’t hold your breath.

A few years ago due to circumstances beyond my control I had to watch the CBS Evening News every night for a week. The main story was a train derailment in Philadelphia which was caused by Republican opposition to infrastructure. But that's not was striking. What got my attention was the fact that every commercial was either for a prescription drug or some Medicare related insurance product. The audience for these programs is literally dying.
Comcast is an American enemy, much worse than North Korea.
So they want a new head to their news division? I’m sure they have their staffing people reaching out to every ex-Obama official they can.
soon enough, NBC’s news ratings will have sunk so low that their internal peccadilloes will rate about as much interest with the public as staff meetings at the National Enquirer ...
This is what amazes me. All the other networks have just ceded half of the political spectrum to Fox while they claw each other’s eyes out all competing for the other half.
You would think one adult would eventually be put in charge. He could even be a liberal personally. He would just need to be focused on getting results/the bottom line. That’s all it would take. A fool could see that moving to the Right or even the middle would instantly result in booming ratings and a lot of cash pouring in. There’s almost no competition for it. Yet their Leftist ideology trumps business sense, profit maximization, and shareholder value every single time.
Is there nobody in charge at Comcast or Disney etc etc who is willing to just open his freaking eyes? Obviously not. They’ve been like this for decades. All Rupert Murdoch had to do was start his network and not be a flaming Leftist to instantly gobble up huge ratings. Yet still the rest refuse to take notice. Incredible.
If I were put in charge of one of these networks, LITERALLY the very first thing I’d do is get out of New York City. I would furthermore ban putting the HQ anywhere on the Left Coast, anywhere in the DC to Boston strip or in Miami. At this point I think half the staff would quit immediately because they cannot even fathom living outside their Leftist bubble.....in a place the rest of the world calls “America”. I’d locate the headquarters in a place like Chattanooga or Cody, Wyoming, or Salt Lake City or Oklahoma City or Mobile, Alabama.....America.
That alone would put them far more in touch with the half or more of the country they make a habit of sneering at than almost all the other networks. My next move would be a complete purge of whatever staff was left and marching orders to staff up with Conservatives and Libertarians who were not from the traditional Leftist bubble areas outlined above.
We’d very soon start kicking ass in the ratings. The rest of the non Fox MSM would get the vapors over what I’d done and call me all sorts of nasty names. I’d laugh all the way to the bank.

Nice theory, but look what "middle-America" has brought us over the years: Tom Brokaw (South Dakota); Dan Rather (Texas); Jane Pauley (Indiana); Bryant Gumbel (New Orleans); Joe Scarborough (Atlanta); Walter Cronkite (Missouri); Bob Schieffer (Texas); etc., etc.
The solution to their problem is very simple and easy to accomplish.
JUST TRY TELLING THE TRUTH !
It’s usually a winner in all circumstances.
Those mediots were self selected. The point is that with all the media being concentrated in New York and the entertainment industry being in LA, they completely lose touch with America preferring their own urban leftist coastal bubbles. The problem is as much cultural as it is ideological.
Want to keep touch with the actual country? Get the hell out of New York.
