Don’t waste time trying to understand McCain or make excuses for his behavior. He’s always been ruthless, self-centered and vindictive.
Timeline: Late May, early June of 2013 McCain meets with former Alqeada leadership in Syria.
Mid to late June it is reported a ship load of weapons seized in Libya are delivered to Syrian rebels who later become ISIS.
Obama created ISIS. McCain armed them.
I do wonder indeed if his last request or demand will be a 27/7 webcam installed at his grave-site with a picture of him shown 24/7? McCain is addicted to media worship of him and worse than any sad to say is Fox News.
I don’t think I was understanding or making excuses at all for him.
I think I actually said that is who he has always been.
What I find surprising is that those close to him don’t try to rein him in, but since this is a book and not day to day communications...that might be a moot point.
Or, as I said, his friends and family could be using him to settle scores.

I don’t like John M but I think he is pretty much innocent of the tsunami of political excretion being issued over his name. He probably is a dead man being kept alive mechanically and sedated to the gills to dull the pain.

I have to disagree. The media had labeled him “maverick “ long before then.
McCain has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana, he wants the liberal media to glowingly remote his legacy.
And, while this is a nasty thing to say given the circumstances, I’m sure his dingbat daughter has his ear given his condition.
He hasn't been seen in public in months, and all indications are the end is near. He is probably medicated to the point where he's not aware of his surroundings. Despite this, "McCain" seems to have a lot to say lately: He doesn't want President Trump at his funeral, he opposes Gina Haspel's nomination for CIA Director, he wants to name his own successor, and now he thinks Rand Paul is working for Vladimir Putin. I wonder who is really putting these things out there under the pretense of it coming from John McCain.
If that’s his litmus test, than McCain is working for Mexico.
