It helps MO republicans. No way we could afford the internal war. We have an internal war going on over this. Hopefully this gives us time to patch things up enough to get Hawley over the finish line. Had Greitens let the drag on through impeachment then that would have really hurt the GOP.

Greitens supports blame Hawley for a lot of the problems Greitens has faced. Some will blame him for the resignation. It's going to cause a split in the party; how serious remains to be seen. Personally I don't think it's fatal to Hawley's campaign but it doesn't help either. Greitens was a constant slow trickle of bad news that was paralyzing the Missouri GOP. To be fair, the state party is in disarray, so it didn't take much. Still, I like Mike Parsons coming in as Governor, and like him or not, Hawley is the guy endorsed by Trump to defeat McCaskill. They have five months to put together a good campaign. It will be easier with Greitens out of the way.

You can tell from the other comments on this thread that the Todd Akins treatment is at work on Hawley. It doesn’t matter that the argument is all going in the opposite direction, the objective is to divide our side and get McCaskill reelected. She is an evil schemer and this will be a dirty fight. Gretens pulled the pin in the grenade released the spoon and threw the pin. SEALS aren’t supposed to do that.

Greitens should have never been nominated by MO Republicans in 2016. Catherine Hanaway or John Brunner would have been better.

I voted against Greitens in the primary since there were better conservatives running against him, but then I didn't vote for rino Blunt in the primary either.
Maybe this will clear the decks for the #1 goal, defeating McCaskill.

Greitens was only a Republican for two years. The rest of his life, he has been a Democrat...Bingo! And he was a Rhodes Scholar to boot, so the voters should have known better.
