CNN and MSNBC buried the inspector general report’s revelation that a number of FBI agents were receiving unauthorized free handouts, such as dinners and tickets, from reporters.

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz noted in his report on the Clinton investigation, which was released Thursday, that his department found numerous instances in which FBI agents were improperly in contact with reporters and were receiving a number of free perks from their relationships. The department “identified numerous FBI employees, at all levels of the organization and with no official reason to be in contact with the media, who were nevertheless in frequent contact with reporters.”

Tickets to sporting events?

Last time I went to a baseball game, it shot a hole through 200 bucks.

I thought the FBI was suppose to remain impartial? I know others in somewhat similar fields that are held to a much higher standard.

Excuse me, but up until a few days ago I had no idea the FBI were taking bribes and gifts. I find it extremely disturbing.

They soldout cheap. Every unreported gratuity should result in a termination if the bureau wants any respect at all.

Legally they are prohibited from accepting anything of substantial value.

Of course. Btw, what’s been revealed about the FBI in the past 2 years or so, my first thought at the top link was those were probably internal political hits, on targeted personnel.

It’s not a bribe if they give them to their spouses. You know, like 3/4 of a million bucks for a little assembly race?
