The answer here is obvious. You should only have enemies who reside in cold weather climates...like Norway, Iceland, or Canada.

Yeah, the Brits screwed up the ‘advanced next generation’ powerplants. Otherwise they’re actually pretty good ships from all reports.

Fortunately, the ships were designed with the ability to accept the well proven American LM2500 power packs that most of our Navy uses and some of theirs does as an alternate powerplant. Eventually they’re probably going to have to give up on the Rolls Royce powerplant if they want these ships to work.

I guess the good point of this situation is that when the Muslims formally take over Great Britain, the Navy they inherit will be useless.

Something is really wrong at Rolls Royce. Their aircraft jet engines have been plagued by problems for a while now, and now this.

In RRs defense, they built the engine to the spec the Royal Navy asked for. When all else fails, read the contract.

"...an engine system which cuts out in warm seas, leaving sailors stranded for hours in total darkness."

Well, so much for maneuver. At least they can't run into anything....

Rolls Royce made the engines?

Same company that made the engines for the Boeing 787, which are now acting up as well?

They need a crew made up of nothing but mechanics and engineers. Just like when driving a British car...always take a mechanic with you. How did the Germans lose?

There needs to be an inquiry concerning the HMS Duncan. It was obviously not built to standards. Or the Captain isn’t a team player.

Seems to be a lot of problems with naval ships going around Europe, as noted in a previous thread of yours...

Germans building ships with a permanent list. Who’d ever thunk of that feature?

The whole “engine cuts out in warm waters/weathers” sounds fishy to me.

My guess is the Royal Navy won’t have the funds to deploy them so long as they’re still working on that supercarrier.

So they designed warships that can’t operate in all-weather conditions.

The idiots who thought it wasn’t necessary should be shot for treason.

What good is a navy that can’t rule the seas?
