State and county officials are urging recipients to do their shopping and make necessary cash withdrawals prior to the outage.
EBT cards, which replaced food stamps under federally supported welfare programs as of June 2004, can be used for purchases at participating stores and also enable recipients to make cash withdrawals.[?]
Locally, the program is administered by the Los Angeles County Department of Social Services.
The services will be down while the state of California transitions from its current EBT vendor to a new one. During the transition, the customer service line listed on each EBT card will not be in operation and the EBT website http://www.ebt.ca.gov is down until 11 p.m. Sunday.

So thaaaat’s where my taxes go!
Grab the popcorn, this should be good!
I try to be positive. But I have been through many vendor changes like this and they NEVER go as well as planned.
Here’s hoping the CA system is down for at least three days, possibly longer. Fits right in with the mindset.
Time for fun?
Call into ‘certain’ radio stations with the news that Trump is cutting off all EBT cards in California before midnight Saturday night. Trend it on Facebook.
If I was Walmart, I’d lock up for at least 24 hours in the affected neighborhoods.
How many times in the past have database migrations gone FUBAR for days before a solution is found?
9 meals from anarchy

“Heres hoping the CA system is down for at least three days, possibly longer. “
I’m in California and I’d like to see that too.
I’ll pull my Mossberg out from under the bed and locate my shells.
It’s over 100 degrees throughout the state.
I definitely would not want to be a cashier at Safeway though. The ghetto denizens will take it out on them, oblivious to the fact it’s a systemic outage.
I happened to be servicing an inner city Cincinnati store 3 years ago when the EBT system regionally went down. “Man your weapons” is right. “The man” was “f’n them”. Since I resemble “the man” and had no weapons I beat a hasty retreat. Six hours of no EBT and the riots would surely start.
Riots.
Wal-mart should really consider closing for renovations during the outage.
Seriously.
THE PURGE
Since the eat users are concentrated in Democrat-run cities we can hope for the worst.
Or right after, itll make demolition easier.
