Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old Latina running her first campaign, ousted 10-term incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley in New York's 14th congressional district on Tuesday. An activist and member of the Democratic Socialists of America, Ocasio-Cortez won over voters in the minority-majority district with a ruthlessly efficient grassroots bid, even as Crowley -- the fourth-ranking Democrat in the House -- outraised her by a 10-to-1 margin.

The majority of voters here in the People's Republic of New York are morons because not only will this 28-year-old Democratic Socialist get elected, but this throughly corrupt and despicable 61 year-old Democratic Socialist is going to get re-elected to his third term as clown emperor of the realm.

Crowley got the seat in 1998 through shenanigans when the sitting Democrat retired on the last day he could and arranged for Crowley to be his successor.
Ocasio-Cortez, a Bronx native and graduate of Boston University, says in her campaign bio that she worked for late Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) “handling foreign affairs and immigration casework for constituent families.” She worked as an educational director with high-school youths and as an organizer for Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) presidential campaign. Among other things, she hit at Crowley for having a permanent residence in Virginia.
Also the media won’t say it but she was elected more due to her “race”. The 14th District is nearly half Hispanic, a little over 18 percent white, just over 11 percent African-American, and about 16 percent Asian-American.

This is a victory.
The extreme left is extremely nuts, but SOME of the extreme left and us have a common foe; the establishment in both parties. Some of the Bernie bros realized that and are Trump supporters now; others just want to purge their own party.
And ousting a 20-year establishment Congressman is good news.

The “Progressive Caucus” is the third largest caucus in the House. They represent the interests of the GSA.

I would hope the Republican Party would be home to all conservative people, regardless of race. They may be a minority, but there is a plethora of conservative people of all races.

Her constituents are being priced out of the district. They no longer can afford to live there. The city of New York is rezoning blocks that contained small businesses and putting up luxury apartment buildings.
Crowley meanwhile lives in Washington D.C. and sends his kids to D.C. area schools.
If you watch her campaign ads she identifies all the problems faced by her district. It’s hard to argue with her. Her last line in the add states she wants medicare for all, free college tuition, basic income, open borders and rent control. Nutty.
