I baked in the 70’s baling hay. 103 highs, 130 in the barn.
.02 a bale. 3 days to get 25 bucks. That was work but I wasn’t want for stamina, muscle and endurance.
Life Savers
There are 365 days in a year. Temp records go back a couple of hundred years at best. Much less in less developed regions of the world. In any given year a record for a particular day will be set and not just in high heat side either.
Was the record-breaking cold weather during April-May-June “Ominous. California had a Spring without a Spring. Temperatures in Northern Cal are still on average 12 Degrees less than average.
Time for another hellfire sermon.
Because cold weather is just weather but hot weather is climate, right Alfie?
Al Gore, the carbon credit king. Made a fortune with this bull-crap.
Early thirties much worse, and with a drought at that time in the mid west, giving us the historic dust bowl. Incidentally, we have had a near record low tornado season. We should have two years now in a row of low hurricanes.
I was introduced to Gore back in the ‘80’s when he was a Senator...It was in Smithville, TN at the National Fiddlers Convention...
He is the ONLY politician I ever met who would not look you in the eyes when talking to you....
Save the planet for the Muzzies, AlGrrrr!
I am guessing Al Gore does not remember the heat wave of 1995 in Chicago which was worse than current one by orders of magnitude. Something like 580 Chicagoan’s died due the heat wave in 1995, with temps climbing over 100 and 100% humidity. I don’t think the current heat wave comes close to that one.
Reason I remember that year is because I came home but had left house keys inside home and had to wait for spouse to show up. No cell phones in those days, so I just sat on the front steps waiting for her. I could have knocked on neighbor’s but waited because she was due home shortly. I could barely breathe and was sweating like a trooper just sitting in shade.
Much as I love Summer, two things irritate me about it: mosquitoes and Gore’s BS.
Meanwhile in Seattle it’s been cloudy, cool, drizzly.
He may be right. It was 88 degrees in Charleston, SC today. In early January, it was just 25 degrees. That's more than a 60 degree increase in six months. At this rate, it will be over 200 degrees a year from now.
Is there a difference?
Meanwhile in Antarctica, it recorded the COLDEST TEMPERATURE...
I call Gore a dumbass.
