The Next American Revolution: #WalkAway
American Spectator ^ | July 5, 2018 | David Catron

Posted on 07/06/2018 6:19:58 AM PDT by Twotone

There’s something happening here, for the Democrats the end is near.

My first inkling that Donald Trump might actually become President came about mid-evening on election night, 2016, when I switched to MSNBC to look at that infallible barometer of Republican success at the ballot box, the expressions of the “journalists” reporting the returns. The first face I saw was that of Chuck Todd, who was frowning at a map of Wisconsin and maundering about Milwaukee. He was worried about low turnout in precincts where the African-American vote was crucial to Hillary Clinton’s success in the Badger State. Having long been skeptical of Trump’s chances, I was surprised. Todd was trembling.

His fear was well-founded. Those Milwaukee precincts were emblematic of a nationwide phenomenon that contributed in no small part to Trump’s victory — African-American enthusiasm for Hillary Clinton was tepid at best. Both the Democrats and the “news” media have ignored this reality. Their willful ignorance allows them to claim, as the brainiacs at Vox put it, “Trump won because of racial resentment.” Never mind that Hillary Clinton is conspicuously caucasian and that white turnout has remained relatively stable since 2004. As the Pew Research Center reports, this cannot be said for African-American turnout:

The black voter turnout rate declined for the first time in 20 years in a presidential election, falling to 59.6% in 2016 after reaching a record-high 66.6% in 2012. The 7-percentage-point decline from the previous presidential election is the largest on record for blacks.

I’ve long said the same; when it goes down, let the brothers “work it out”. I’m friends with several black conservatives who are predicting worse for the sell-outs than you’d imagine. An awakening is underway. JPL and others have had quite an effect.

It just returned to normal. It was uncharacteristically high during the two Obama elections.

You have to give F. Chuck Todd some credit for the election night coverage. I have enjoyed watching that night many times, but he clearly seemed to be the quickest to connect the dots and see the writing on the wall - well before his fellow cheerleaders.

John King seemed to be the one who connected the dots on CNN.

The funniest part of the night was where the two of them were starting to genuinely point out that Trump was doing far better than expected, but the enthusiasm and group think continued for two plus hours before the others began to appear uncomfortable. I can’t remember his name, but the guy on MSNBC was great - he kept pointing out that Trump was doing well, but that is okay because she still has x, y, and z to come in for her.

That night was so much fun!

The #WalkAway movement is incredible. I don’t know what the overall impact will be come November, but the stories are addictive reading.

I know most Freepers steer clear of facebook (fakebook), but Zuk is having a hard time keeping a lid on this one. The #WalkAway group has gone from about 20,000 last week to over 80,000 today. The testimonies of walking away are really amazing.

What if instead of a Hillary Clinton, the Dems ran a Kamala Harris? Would Harris energize black voters without alienating white voters?

Just a hypothetical question...I can't stand either of them.

This guy calls himself a political writer, and he only realized Trump was going to win on election night?

I think most Freepers knew that Trump would be the next president halfway through the primary, at the latest. I personally sensed that he would be the eventual winner after his first big rally in Alabama.

By the way, does anyone have information of a DVD/BLURAY
of an accumulation of 2016 election night coverage. I would pay $ for one that is well done. The YouTube ones are just all over the map.

Exactly. As soon as he cleaned up the first 2 debates I knew the man was going to be president. Hillary??!!!!....give me break. Just like I knew Bill Clinton was going to be president after the first debate when he looked square in the camera without flinching and said he never inhaled.

There are a lot of minorities in the #WalkAway group on FaceBook. Their stories are fascinating. Most are catching hell from family, neighbors, friends, but they are courageous and standing up.

I hope this #walkaway trnd is loosening Schumer’s bowels.

I would not be shocked to see Schumer and Pelosi taking credit for some of Trumps accomplishments before November; once they realize how far up the creek they are.
