Facebook stocks plunged precipitously on Thursday after the company's earnings report showed they missed expectations on revenue and that the social media platform's monthly users are down significantly. All of this comes in the wake of ongoing scandals, including charges of data misuse and anti-conservative bias.
"During a conference call Wednesday, Facebook Chief Financial Officer David Wehner predicted bad news for the second half, and the company’s shares immediately began a drastic retreat in the extended session," Marketwatch reported on Thursday.
According to Reuters, "Facebook shares dived 18.6 percent, set for its biggest one-day percentage drop ever, after the social media giant said profit margins would plummet for years due to costs to improve privacy safeguards and slowing usage in its big advertising markets."
But stock prices aren't the only problems facing the beleaguered social media behemoth. The company is facing massive fines and possible government intervention as lawsuits pile up in the U.S. and around the world. In fact, Facebook is facing more than three dozen class-action lawsuits over Cambridge Analytica privacy breaches alone. The looming legal nightmare is so significant that the company felt the need to include a note about it in their quarterly SEC report:
Beginning on March 20, 2018, multiple putative class actions and derivative actions were filed in state and federal courts in the United States and elsewhere against us and certain of our directors and officers alleging violations of securities laws, breach of fiduciary duties, and other causes of action in connection with the misuse of certain data

Facebook was built on it’s ability to deliver highly targeted advertizing. If advertizers lose confidence, there goes their whole business model.
We’ve seen this anti-conservative bias and discrimination with print media, broadcast media, and now social media yet no viable alternative has arisen.
Where in the hell are the conservative and politically neutral investors who are missing the opportunity of a lifetime? It is obvious that the world is waiting for a social media platform that is “Fair and Balanced”. Families and friendships have been destroyed by this bias, no one wants it. The time is now.

Facebook was built on the content and data of its users. Cram too much on the screen that they didn’t opt into and suppress too much of what they did go there for and they will go somewhere else.
For planning/scheduling events and promoting them to absolute strangers as well as friends there doesn’t currently seem to be anything like it.
Friendster was that many years ago but changed model and wanted to target gamers.
Myspace was that but now it wants to be Spotify with a little more bells and whistles. But just songs and photos.
There are a number of photo sites (and video) but no calendar or invite etc.
People could go to Russia’s VK or some other site I suppose but everyone is waiting for the next gen. Or maybe they’d stay if changes were made and Zuckerpunk was forced down as CEO.

I have no doubt that Facebook goes to great lengths to suppress and punish its users with whom it politically disagrees. It has become a digitized social media gulag designed to identify, isolate and silence political dissidents, without having to go to the trouble of constructing guarded compounds and asylums in Siberia to achieve that end.
Unlike privately owned companies that are (or should be) free to believe and operate as they choose, Facebook is a publicly traded entity that is subject to federal regulatory oversight by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the financial protection of potential and existing investors.
In view of Facebook’s historic $100 Billion nosedive yesterday, I only have one question:
Has Facebook knowingly committed securities fraud by failing to notify its potential and current investors, through the SEC’s market risk disclosure requirements, that it actively engages in the development of internal algorithms that are designed to segregate, suppress and censor the opinions and beliefs of its users and shareholders based on publicly undisclosed political ideologies and methods that resulted in the foreseeable loss of investment by its unknowing shareholders and advertisers?

Amazing how these unstable low IQ’s are getting by with their internet threats to our President.
FB has probably been committing fraud shortly after it got into selling data to advertisers with their bots and trolls.
I wish I had for foresight to buy it in the $20s. I never thought it would be where it is.
