Schmidt: 40 Precent of Americans Have ‘Surrendered Their Intellectual Sovereignty’ to Trump
brietbart ^ | 08/16/2018 | Pam Key

Posted on 08/17/2018 5:15:43 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Thursday on MSNBC’s “Deadline,” campaign strategist for former President George W. Bush and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) Steve Schmidt said, “40 percent of the country has surrendered their intellectual sovereignty to Donald Trump.”

Schmidt said, “He’s pursuing the only strategy he can pursue, which is try to incite his base. As he incites that base, that base gets smaller, and the majority grows in opposition to Trump, but the smaller base is a harder more intense one. If you go back to inauguration day, Trump has less support today than he did then. His base is smaller. The Republican party is smaller. But it is more faithful and more intense in its loyalty to Trump. Forty percent of the country has surrendered their intellectual sovereignty to Donald Trump.”

He added, “There is for them no such thing as objective truth anymore. What is true is what the leader says is true, what the leader believes is true. Trump has exercised that power and 40 percent of the country has submitted themselves to it. It’s extraordinary and frightening to see, but thank goodness not a majority of the country. In fact, it’s not even close to being a majority of the country.”

Like most Trump haters this guy is more obsessed with what Trump says and how he says it while ignoring what Trump is ACCOMPLISHING

In a certain sense that’s good for our side. In another sense, I think it’s intentional on Trump’s part. And that means that our “intellectual superiors” are actually being out maneuvered by dumb people.

Baghdad Bob is still ranting about the US troops trapped in the swamps, is he?

Black support for Trump has nearly doubled since the election.

-—This meme that the “President is stupid” and, therefore, so are all his supporters is nothing more than a repeat of the media’s assault on the Reagan presidency.-—

It’s the Left’s standard trope for nearly all modern Republican presidents: they’re stupid men who surround themselves with devious manipulators who wield the actual levers of power.

It goes all the way back to at least Eisenhower, who, although a war hero, was seen as incurious and disengaged by the Left. The only exception to this rule was Nixon, who the left saw as equally evil and devious as his underlings.

But everyone else: Ike, Ford, Reagan, Bush 1&2, were all seen as - as Leftist elitist Clark Clifford once said of Reagan - “amiable dunces.”

Steve Schmidt is an absolute dunce. He looks like a dunce, he talks like a dunce, he is a dunce.

“...most Trump haters...”

Really, it’s amazing how peoples’ attitudes towards Trump changed from 2014. Clearly it’s due to his anti-swamp work.

When the idiots attack, they cannot list any specific evils so everything becomes general and hateful.

Mired in hatred, stuck on stupid.

This d!ck is probably right about one thing: The Republican Party is probably smaller today than it was two years ago. I’m sure there are plenty of people like me who will never be registered Republicans as long as the GOP has @ssholes like Steve Schmidt as their advisors and TV spokesmen.

Apparently Schmidt hasn't seen the job approval ratings for President Trump. It may be higher now but in April, President Trump’s approval rating, according to Rasmussen, was 50 percent. At the same point in Barack Obama’s presidency, Obama’s approval rating per Rasmussen was 48 percent.

Mr. Schmidt -- facts speak louder than opinion!

Schmidt is quite the prognosticator:

Morning Joe 10/19/16

What's the over-under on a possible electoral college victory for Clinton?

Steve Schmidt: She's 'trending over 400.'

LOL. I’m used to Democrats calling me an idiot or an automaton who simply follows my evil conservative leader’s commands. Now I have “Republicans” doing it too.

So what is he afraid of? We now know that Bill Kristol was COLLUDING with Democrats to try to engineer a Hillary victory, or at least get Trump impeached.

Where does Steve Schmidt fit in to this plot?

If his strategy was to get McCains ass kicked in the election then I’d say he was successful.
