Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett said Saturday on Fox & Friends that he believes Attorney General Jeff Sessions will be fired after the midterm elections.
His comments come after a court filing uncovered by Judicial Watch revealed that no FISA court hearings were held regarding warrants to spy on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.
Jarrett said Saturday that the Supreme Court should get involved in order to prevent future abuses.
He said that a show cause hearing should be held to determine why Justice Department and FBI officials involved shouldn't be held in contempt.
The Justice Department released documents in July that were used by the government to justify the FISA surveillance warrant against Page.
In the warrant application, the FBI said it believed Page was "collaborating and conspiring with the Russian government."
As Fox News previously reported:
Though heavily redacted, the documents show that the infamous and unverified Steele Dossier was a major component of the 2016 surveillance warrant. ... The visible sections of the released FISA documents do not indicate the dossier was ever verified. Instead, the FBI claimed that [Christopher] Steele was reliable based on his previous work.
Jarrett added that a special master should be appointed to preside over the show cause hearing.
"Somebody who's neutral and fair, who can objectively look at the facts," he said.
He said that he believes President Trump will declassify the documents that Congress is seeking.
"And then I think after the election, [Attorney General] Jeff Sessions will be fired." said Jarrett. "I would select somebody like John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) to replace him."

Aw, I love it! ‘Course I’m a big horror movie fan too, so I guess I’m a little off.
FISA abuse and the Chinese hacking the Sec. Of State for years and there is no interest by anyone..at all?.. Michael Cohen and Manafort are big deals though?
Ok.
Trump has to move more carefully than we like to think cuz there’s a gun aimed at his head. The left has to be seen as hanging itself. Any dramatic breakthrough due to Trump’s intervention will activate the oligarchy’s Lee Harvey Oswald assembly line.
Mike Pompeo is the interim AG. Already approved by Senate for Cabinet level. Easy peasy.
Mike Pompeo has been confirmed by the Senate. USMA and Harvard Law.
No problemo. This is the Free-Range, Free Republic.
Funny thing is I used to read a lot of novels by Dean Koontz.
Did you ever see any of the SAW Movies? I have a friend who loves those films. Why? I don’t know. They’ve been around for over 10 years. Not for me, tho.
Sessions is one of the worst Americans of all time.
If...IF Jeff Sessions is actually fired. I fully expect him to join the band of malcontented ex-employees with a nasty book and a talk show #MeToo! tour based on pathos and false contrition.
He might even show up on ELLEN or The View.
I expect Sessions to begin openly ‘Palling Around with’ Mueller. I don’t quite understand Mr. Sessions motivations in the least.
Clearing the (corrupt) deep state bench won’t be easy and it will be risky for all involved but it has to be done. They have been at this for a long time and they have assassins.
It may be the most consequential thing this Administration does - if it does it.
The problem, of course, is that bench is deep and many are hiding in plain sight keeping a low profile. No way to get all of them sneaky bastards but just getting most of them would be a major accomplishment.
Optics designed to stump the opposition.
My favorite book by Koontz was Watchers.
I absolutely love that book, but probably because I am a HUGE dog lover!
I’ve seen all of the Saw movies, but I didn’t particularly enjoy any of them. First one was decent, but that is not the type of horror movie that really scares me.
The ones that scare me are ghost stories, supernatural, things that are beyond our ability to understand in this world.
The first time I saw Insidious it about gave me a heart attack.
I really enjoyed The Conjuring II.
I’ve had some unusual experiences with ghosts in my life, so ghost movies scare me for real.
I also enjoy movies like The Thing (1982), Alien, those type of movies, but those don’t really scare me so much as they entertain and thrill me.
Sessions only hope is to get Huber to indict a couple of Ham Sandwiches in the next few weeks...
*****************************************
The Huber investigation hasnt even interviewed Orr. WTF have they been doing...sucking their thumbs?
he needs to fire Rosenstein and Sessions now. If the dems win in november (lets hope not) it will be nearly impossible to get a competent AG confirmed.
BTW I heard joe Digenova say on a radio program if trump offered it to him he would take the job.
When a Republican behaves this way, it is often because he is a closeted homosexual, subject to blackmail. I have no knowledge that either Sessions or Judge Roberts are anything other than completely straight, but they both seem to exhibit "Do as we say or we will out you" behavior.
This whole Sessions/Rosenstein thing is hard to wrap ones head around. Of course, its obstruction to Trump from start to finish.
He needs to be fired while Congress is in recess so he can recess appoint someone with a one year mandate to clean the place up. Greg Jarrett would be a fine choice.
Don’t know him. I want somebody from outside the government who is the meanest SOB in the valley. How about a Navy Seal or Marine Force Recon with a law degree?
Somebody who knows Sessions said: prior to his appointment that Sessions idolized the justice department and believed it can do no wrong. That’s why he asked for the position. But once there, he is unable to lead because while good at being a senator he is not a leader.
Don’t wake Rip Van Sessions ..
