Lawyers for Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, refused Friday to reply in time to meet Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley’s (R-IA) final deadline to agree to have their client testify.
Ford’s lead attorney, Democratic donor Deborah Katz, sent Judiciary Committee staff an email shortly after 9:00 p.m. refusing to give an answer.

Dems realize this could boomerang on them. Many have gone on the record speaking for Ford and saying she’s telling the truth. If she shows up and is refuted, blowback on Dems.
My understanding is DiFi’s staff leaked the info (the letter accusing Kavanaugh). Might have also been Ford’s lawyer who was seen on Capitol Hill a few days before the letter leaked.
DiFi is also in the fight of her life. Hispanic Socialist even more leftist than her might beat her in the primaries. She needed something to save her political career. She’s also 85 and many feel it is just time for her to hang it up.

Looked up Katz’s background and she looks legit. I recognized her name from an environmental case I was familiar with but didn’t know she was a local attorney, as well as from a legal publication.

DyFy and the Democrats have refused to take part in any of the negotiations ever since DyFy started this crap. They'll play the plausible deniability card whenever they feel they are on the spot.
No republican has been shown the real unredacted letter. You can bet it harms Ford’s case. Next, allowing her to erase social media is destruction of evidence and outrageous. If these things are not corrected, believing Ford is unacceptable.
Grassley is a fool and the Democrats are playing him like a fiddle.
There is no intention on their part of coming to an agreement and the antics of Ford’s lawyers should have settled it beyond the shadow of a doubt.
While Grassley is bending over backwards to be fair to her, in the process to be fair to Judge Kavanaugh has all but been forgotten.
This absurd charade has gone on long enough.
I think Grassley has the votes and will calmly proceed with the voting schedule. That is, the Committee vote on Mon., Cloture vote on Wed., and final vote on Thurs. The Dems will scream like banshees and it will all be so wonderful to watch.
Grassley knows that Blasey-Ford doesn’t exist, or at minimum, the story is SO FAR from from the Democrats public narrative, that he has nothing to lose by being accommodating.
I personally believe Blasey-Ford is a completely fictional character. No one has seen her, no one has talked to her. We are given a canned photo and resume of her. She’s afraid to travel, afraid to talk in public.
